Earlier this year during a Nintendo Direct presentation, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival was announced for Switch. Now, in an update, Bandai Namco has confirmed the game will be arriving on 23rd September worldwide.
As previously mentioned, there'll be 76 songs included, plus an in-game subscription service - giving players access to over 500 songs at launch. One of the tracks even includes an orchestral version of the main theme from The Legend of Zelda. Here's some PR from the original announcement:
"The latest Taiko no Tatsujin game is coming to Nintendo Switch! Drum to 76 boppin’ beats, including an orchestral version of the main theme from The Legend of Zelda, as well as “Gurenge,” “Feel Special” and “Racing into the Night.” Face off against each other in the new mode, Great Drum Toy War, or put on a live concert with friends in DON-chan Band. Plus, a paid in-game subscription service that gives you access to over 500 songs will be available at launch. Drum to your heart’s content when Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival launches on Nintendo Switch in 2022."
Physical pre-orders for this next entry are now live on Bandai Namco's official website for $39.99 USD. Taiko no Tatsujin Drum Controller pre-orders are also available for $69.99. In addition to this, the full song list for the base game has been revealed via the Taiko no Tatsujin website (thanks, Gematsu):

Day 1. Mine. Mineeeee.
Will likely get the sub as well if Perfume is in it.
Edit: Moonlight Densetsu and Katamari on the rocks? Ok this is now my most anticipated release of the year. Is it September yet?
I want to know the 76 songs I can play them Offline without subscription for accessing extra 500 songs.
I’m pleasantly surprised. I anticipated this to be a self-gifted birthday present like the last two, it I will take a September release instead of December.
One thing I don't about some rhythm games is the truncated version of songs. I seriously doubt these will be the full songs, probably just the first 2 minutes of one.
This is gonna be wicked. That practice feature looks to be a godsend
I mean, as much as I dislike the subscription, 500 is vary tempting, might be worth it idk.
can I use my old drum from previous switch game?
Played the previous one and while I did enjoy it I don't think I'll be buying this. Far FAR too much DLC for my liking which should have been in the game.
As Simon would say: it's a no from me.
Going to get the game without the pass, too many subscptions lately.
I know some people (with and without kids) that waste more than €150 euro each month because of subscptions, and because a ton of stuff pushes that instead of "one price".
And in case of Netflix, Game Pass or Spotify I understand that, but there are so many other services where it doesn't make any sense, it only drives up your monthly cost.
In my case it is not that high, but even here with Spotify, Crunchyroll and few other stuff I already sit at around €40 a month myself.

Atlus is just mocking Nintendo users at this point.
I love these games, I'm a huge Japan nerd and own all the current switch versions (and 2 drums).
The sub sounds amazing and the band mode has potential. Could this not have been made available for drum n fun though? This song list is basically all available via the already out versions, that's before even factoring in dlc which I've paid out loads for. The sub sure is tempting though ...
No Yo-kai Watch songs... in the base line-up at least. Hoping they're in the subscription. Surely if there's 500 songs?
A decent amount of content on show, but a hard pass on the subscription. I’d happily buy annual instalments with a different selection of songs, however, and I’m a little surprised that they hadn’t adopted such a model.
@BASEDSAKRI : Considering that Namco are taking preorders for the drum controller (which is identical to the last one), I shall take that as a resounding yes.
I want it with the drum controller but I can’t bring myself to pay that much for a game I don’t know if I’ll like considering I usually can’t get into rhythm games
no BabyMetal no buy
Love this game!!! One of the best party game on Nintendo Switch!
You put 2 Taiko drums, or Just Dance and the family and friends play all night!
First Taiko Switch Game you can only put 2 drums together. maybe this one you can play with 4 drums....fingers crossed!
