The few weeks leading up to the release of new Pokémon games will always be an exciting time for fans of the series, and the build-up to the launch of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl has been made even more special thanks to the release of the Dialga and Palkia edition Switch Lite console.
The system launched last Friday (purchase options are available here if you're interested), two weeks ahead of the games themselves, and Nintendo's New York store celebrated its release with fans. The store held a special Sinnoh Region event for those attending, where fans could pick up the new Switch Lite system and join in with photo opportunities.
Nintendo of America has shared some photographs of the event:
Fancy having your photo taken with the game's protagonists?
As a team primarily based in the UK, which is sadly lacking in official Nintendo shops like this one, we're always left immensely jealous when seeing the NY store. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl took centre stage in the store's windows for the event:
Remember, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl launch on Friday 19th November. Copies are available to pre-order here.

@thiz Nope. I will wait as I am almost exclusive physical gamer and the cartridges of BD and SP are executed atrociously. The data on the cartridges is outdated as hell.
@thiz the remakes look great, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up better than the Arceus game.
But that is maybe because the remakes are not done by Gamefreak to begin with.
P.S. even as someone who is fine with digital on PC, I don't trust Nintendo enough to go full digital, only a few small exceptions here and there.
Anyhow the physicals are €10 euro cheaper too for me, so that plays like usual a role too.
@Zuljaras
I'm not happy with the state of the release-batch cartridges either.
But they also represent their own value as it snapshots a much earlier state of the game.
It baffles me that they're okay with releasing a barely acceptable build that lacks a finished title screen or credits sequence, and effectively requires an update to receive a finished product.
With this particular game I know that there will be future prints that will be data complete, at the very least.
@RupeeClock Ofc they are ok as it will sell well because it is Pokemon. Even a turd with official Pokemon sticker on it will sell well.
I demand a better physical release like they did with Sword and Shield so I will wait. If not I can always get them second hand in couple of years
to be honest, i'm really surprised that there is no official, physical nintendo store here in the uk yet, london seems like the prime place to plop one tbh
Yeah, the pre-release cartridges are a joke. From what I've seen the title screen is still missing, the battle themes are just placeholder right now etc. I know Day One patches have been a thing on other consoles for quite a while now but it's sad to see that they have arrived on Switch now too (or at least for Nintendo owned IPs). At this point it doesn't really matter if you buy physical or digital
@thiz true
However Little Timmy would not be able to experience the game at all if it was digital, for same reason.
However unfinished games on cartridge/disc are (very sadly) more the norm nowdays (because money), luckily most Switch games I play are complete on the cartridge (no need to a day one patch).
And the games that do need it I don't play on Switch to begin with (but PC).
Still passing on this for now.
Gym rematches and legendaries are kinda the bare minimum for endgame, so doesn’t really entice me when the main campaign is effectively unaltered.
@Munchlax the original games had content after the League, so I assume that should be in here too.
But something like the Delta Episode in ORAS would be a nice thing to see.
@Mauzuri they put a unfinished game on the cartridge, with unfinished soundtrack.
That is what people that got early access to the game say, when my copy comes in I turn off my wifi just to check that, the game like any Pokémon game will probably take me at most 1 day to finish anyhow.
Oh daer, the carridges are bad?
I changed my plan to get Skylanders Imaginators PS4 instead.
@Dragwhite Yep, I agree. London totally needs a Nintendo store. In an ideal world it would replace the M&Ms store which always baffles me as to why every London tourist feels the need to go there...
@Rayquaza2510
I know stuff like the battle tower (not frontier) have been confirmed, but since I still have the originals and don’t like the graphical style of the remakes, I really need there to be a significant amount of new fleshed out content for it to be worth £50. So far, it’s a underground wild area, and that’s basically all there is that wasn’t in Platinum too.
Nintendo needs more official stores, both worldwide and regionally in the US and other large countries. New York City isn't exactly a short drive, flight, or train ride for many of us, y'know.
