At the end of last month Nintendo revealed the silver Mario amiibo figure would be available in Australia and New Zealand exclusively from EB Games from the 30th of May onward, with limited stock and strictly one per customer. It was also revealed the gold Mario amiibo figure would be exclusive to Target stores for AU$17.95 with a release date to be announced soon.
That day has now arrived with Nintendo revealing Target Australia will stock the gold edition Mario amiibo in limited supply from 25th June onward. Stock is limited to one per customer with no pre-orders available, making this amiibo slightly harder to acquire than the silver exclusive which went up for pre-order and sold out shortly after it was dated for release.
For those of you in New Zealand wondering how you'll be able to acquire this limited gold edition Mario amiibo, Nintendo Australia's Facebook page has revealed Mighty Ape will have limited stock available to order from 22nd June, with stock available from the 25th. Again, strictly one per customer and while stocks last.
If you live in Australia or New Zealand, let us know if you plan on acquiring one of these limited gold Mario amiibo and if you had any luck with the silver figurines available at EB.

Target Exclusive.
I Didn't know that Nintendo Australia was planing exclusive Ammibos?
@Kawaiipikachu The silver and gold ones are the first. The silver Mario amiibo was exclusive to EB Games, with pre-orders selling out the day of the announcement.
There was one Villager and two Little Mac's at EB Games, Hay street, Perth, WA, when I went in this afternoon if your lucky they might still be there.
The only amiibo in my eyes comes out only 2 days later: the yarn yoshi!
But in other news: new Devil's Third footage & Japanese release confimed! Oh yeah!
Meanwhile in Europe...
I've just received a Silver Mario from Amazon US. It cost about 14GBP including delivery.
@Fandabidozi I'm in Perth too! Thanks for the hot tip!
@fandabidozi aaaaand I missed it
Buuuut maybe add me? My NNID is Rex Monsoon.
Yesssss, perfect timing I'm hopefully going to get this.
That reminds me, I need to pick up a silver Mario to go with the gold one I got from Walmart. My Gold Mario is the only Amiibo in my collection that is still sealed.
Well there are lots of inkling, and wave 4 amiibos in stores but i haven't seen the gold mario yet.
Limited editions that look worse than the originals confuse me. Maybe it would be cool if you wanted to give someone a little Mario trophy... but then why would you want it to be made out of plastic?
@Ichiban In Australia the Yarn Yoshis and the Game come out on the 25th.

Why do i have the feeling Europe will be next to get gold and silver Mario amiibo's.
Meanwhile in North America...
Sprinted to EB games Widen to preorder silver Mario. Gonna do the same thing for gold Mario
I picked up a silver Mario at Target 3 days after release just b/c Target had 1 - and only 1 - in stock. Turns out they are only going for about $15 on eBay do they must have made a bunch. Or people are sick of trying to buy rare ammiibo?
Anywsy, theres hope Australia that you may be able to find one. But only 1.
@Rexx
Hey, that sucks. I picked up a Villager but passed on Little Mac. Might live to regret that...
I'll add you, thanks.
@BJQ1972 Thank's for the Amazon tip, I forgot that we can order from Amazon USA in the UK,
@BJQ1972 Thanks for reminding me that I can order from Amazon USA in the UK!
I might pick this up. I'll see.
@Pj1 yup, pretty quick at arriving too. It's where I got mine from.
@Fandabidozi I just visited a store right near where I work instead and there were Wii Fit Trainers, Villagers, Captain Falcon, the works!
Want me to see if there is a little mac there for you today? Happy to pick it up if so. Now I just need Pit and Samus....
Damn. It's right before school.
Nobody will mind if I'm late, right?
