Amsterdam developer Youdagames has today announced its flagship Texas Hold 'em title – Governor of Poker – is coming to the North American and European 3DS eShop on 10th April for $4.99 and €4.99 respectively.
The Teyon-published game previously released on PC, Mac, Facebook, Android and iOS plays out in the town of San Saba, where players must grow their fortunes and eventually take over the whole state of Texas. To succeed, players will have to win big in numerous poker tournaments and cash games, allowing them to then buy real estate, transport and entire towns.
Features in Governor of Poker include:
- 2 modes of game play for either quick rounds of poker or dealing your hand for the title of Governor
- Escape the sweltering heat of the old Wild West and enter saloons for poker tournaments and cash games to win cash, transport and real estate!
- Claim over 10 Texan towns and build your reputation as the Governor of Poker!
- Bust out players and your best poker face to claim all 24 rewards!

Online play? I find singleplayer poker gets boring after awhile
I'm really tempted by this one. I enjoy a good game of poker and to have goals to achieve is a major bonus in my book.
@DefHalan false Online play is boring.
But this game looks fun lol....
Really hope this online as bots can be boring to play.
So, it's a poker game with an actual storyline? Count me immediately in.
Looks fun, but I'll wait for a review before I pick this one up.
Wowzers! This looks like great fun, I presume it will come with many tutorials which I'll need as I don't know anything about Poker. I'll buy it as soon as I can.
Poker without online play? Um, no thank you.
I agree with @defhalan once you play with real players the computer just doesn't cut it anymore.
wow this game looks real neat. RPG elements and poker...'what a perfect combo
needs online or don't bother releasing it.
This looks both interesting and great fun. Can't wait!
The storyline sold me.
