Injustice: Gods Among Us is a heroic beat-em-up featuring a host of characters from the DC universe, and is on its way to Wii U as well as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Warner Bros. has now revealed the game's release dates: 16th April in North America and 19th April in Europe.
The fighter does have a bit of pedigree already considering the fact its been developed by NetherRealm Studios, the same team that successfully rebooted Mortal Kombat in 2011. It allows you to play as a plethora of recognisable characters like Batman, Bane, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Green Arrow, The Flash and Green Lantern.
A Collector's Edition of the game has also been announced, however it will only be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, leaving a certain feeling of injustice within Wii U owners. It has Steelbook packaging and contains a statue of Batman fighting Wonder Woman, an Injustice comic book and additional DLC character skins for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
Take a look at our first impressions of Injustice: Gods Among Us to find out a bit more about what the game has to offer.

im really interested in this as i love mk9 but when i see gameplay it looks kinda clunky
Don't care about the collector's but I hope that DLC Red Son Pack is made available.
i guess im getting the ps3 version then
i'm getting it anyways.
But why, is there a reason for no pre-order bonus?
I wasn't getting it anyway, but can we have a reason there is a special edition for the other two but not Wii U? Come on... why is Nintendo always seem to be the lesser of the 3 when a game is released on all 3 systems...never thought I'd say that but I'm starting to get a little aggravated with it.
There must be something up with Nintendo as no game has DLC yet. What's wrong with their infrastructure structure for not even Just Dance 4 to have add-on content yet.
Sweet.
I can't wait!
The special edition is 99$ and even if am wrong I guess im not falling for the collectors edition bs. Bahhhhh! what animal makes that noise.
Besides that buy the game for what it is..... a game.
Looks like I will be getting the xbox version.
Meh. Next fighter will be what now?
Being a Christian and only believing in one GOD, I will have to bypass this game. Developers should really rethink their titles if they plan to sell to everyone.
@TenEighty: I'm pretty sure devs understand that they can't please everyone, so they do the best they can. This time around, I suppose you're the one left displeased, but perhaps they'll be able to win you over next time? :3
well i have no problem with the title.
Is the title US or U's
Unless you are worshiping the game, there's nothing wrong with it.
@TenEighty
The use of "God" in the title isn't literal.
@TenEighty
I'm christian too, but the title is just that, a title. They're likely refering to the fear presented because of the powers the JLA have.
An example: Superman has been called a God lots of times by the characters that fear his powers.
Anyway, on the game itself: I'm not a fan of the art style. I don't care much for the grimdark look(though given the story, I suppose it's appropriate), but I'm especially not fond of the armoured look that they gave every character(GL has the worst costume). Still might pick it up though.
Cannot wait! The whole Wii U not having the collector's addition, doesn't bother me at all. It would be like $120+ anyway. I'm going to kick some butt in this game! Superman beware
Batman and others will be needing that armor seeing who they will be up against.
@HawkeyeWii
I say the same to you Batman. See you in combat.
@KaiserGX
It still looks stupid. Plus, why does Superman need the armor?
I actually like Batman's armour (it looks cooler in the comic) but I agree it looking stupid on the Flash and not being necessary on Superman though that looks to be his New 52 look.
@KaiserGX
GL's is really dumb as well(His legs look like they have fishnets on them). Also, the comic does make it look a bit better. Supes wearing armour is NOT from his New52 design BTW.
@TenEighty ... So, you refuse to acknowledge anything that involves Greek mythology since they believed in multiple gods, or polythiesm? Did you catch Kid Icarus: Uprising? Because Palutena is the "Goddess of Light", Medusa the "Goddess of Darkness", et cetera, so the game has multiple gods. How about the Legend of Zelda series? Skyward Sword refers to Hylia as "the Goddess". It just sound really sad when you make a comment about not getting a game because it uses the word "god" in the title.
P.S I'm going to assume that you aren't much of a God of War fan, are you? I'm not crazy about God of War either, but I'm sure it's for VERY different reasons than you.
@shinpichu The story line is going to make that apparent. Supposedly, it will be explained how 'gadget' characters like Batman and Green Arrow can face off against 'supernatural' characters like Superman, Wonderwoman, and Green Lantern. I'm going to assume that they need the armor because they all became vulnerable to regular attacks or something.
@Captain_Balko
See comment #24
Nvm thought it was.
I don't get why this game and Aliens: Colonial Marines' Collectors editions aren't coming to WiiU.
The only thing I can think of would be the lack of DLC included with other editions, but that would be stupid.
@shinpichu I am under the assumption that Superman needs the armour because he is on a level playing field with all other characters after a certain event in the story. He's still really strong, can fly, and has lazer vision, but he can get hurt just as well as a normal human... or, well, a really strong human. I could be wrong, it which case it would be dumb that Superman has armour, but I think there is a decent chance that I am right.
Regardless, I am getting this game day one for Wii U since I don't own a PS3 or X-Box 360. It looks awesome, and I can't wait to try out the characters and their over-the-top special moves.
@Captain_Balko
No I will not acknowledge anything that's not, as a "GOD" or "Goddess" due to my faith. Also no, I've never played GoW for the same reason. Now if it were labeled Kings and/or Queens, I would be fine with that. As there have been many of those who never deserved the title to begin with.
Anyway, it could be a cool game and I'm sure many will enjoy it.
@TenEighty
Oh well your loss. Don't they teach you about various mythology in Literary classes or do you not do the work?
Will this game have online multi-player for Wii U? If so, I am taking you all down!
Batman is invincible!
@HawkeyeWii I think Bane would have something to say about that...
@Joshers744
I agree completely, its getting ridiculous. Its why I have an xbox as well as a wii u.
I dont give two hoots about the collectors edition but I do hope this game turns out well. I am a fan of Mortal Kombat and hope this cuts the mustard.
My favorite part about this article: "Warner Bros. has now revealed the game's release dates: 16th April in North America and 19th April in Europe."
But the NL sidebar says, "Release Date: To Be Announced (USA), To Be Announced (UK/EU)"
Hope there's a demo and any chance of some mk reissues neverealm?
Sorry netherealm.
I gotta say Batman's armor looks fantastic. Its like a nice blend between the Nolan films TDK/TDKR suit and his Arkham games Batsuit. I'm not sure if I'll buy this, not a real fan of fighters besides Smash Bros. But I'm crossing my fingers for Killer Croc to be DLC!
@TenEighty
Also being a christian, I understand that the word 'god' does not literally mean One God but can simply refer to 'godlike ones' as in John 1:1 where it refers to Jesus being a 'god' though he was beside 'God'. Saying he was godlike in he was in heaven before coming to Earth. But that's irrelevant. If your conscience really doesn't allow you to play this game then that's fair enough but my conscience allows me to so I hope you can understand that too!
Incidentally I'm a bit miffed at not having the extra skins but you never know, they may bring in some nice Wii-U exclusive DLC too, even if it means paying a LITTLE bit for the extra skins.
Ugh plz make collectors for wii u. This is not a good way to draw the hardcore crowd
Wonder if there add a Nintendo mode like tekken tag I'm sure that would shut a few people.
Only bought one collectors edition and regretted it, marvel vs capcom 3 (thanks capcom). So if I get this game it is going to be the standard version and probably the wii u version.
Certainly wouldn't mind this,I'll keep a look out for it.
this looked like one of those harcore games but to find out that is just a fighting game turns me away and now to hear that there doing this for the wii u version quiet sad oh well not getting this after all
I'd rather it be more accessible age rating like the SSFIV series and it has a bit of a crappy name (100% respect the view on that BTW), but I'll still get the Wii U version re
"Injustice: Gods Among Us is a heroic beat-em-up..."?
@AltDotNerd
Take into consideration that Batman was way out of his prime and not only is Bane in his prime, but his is also fueled by steroids or whatever that venom stuff is. Of course they didn't expand on that in the movie, because that would be kinda weird, just look at "Batman and Robin" and that movie didn't turn out well at all....
Hell Batman was a 55+ year old guy and beat Superman and 3/4 of the fight was without kryptonite. Need I say more...
Batman is the most awesome superhero ever!
@HawkeyeWii
Agreed. Batman is the epitome of awesome. Didn't he take down the entire Justice League once? I'm pretty sure he did, but I could be mistaken.
@Sherman
Yeah, I thought that was strange too.
Give me Marvel VS Capcom instead
@brandonbwii
Ninja Gaiden 3 has DLC but it was free.
@HawkeyeWii
Batman is way overrated. No, really. I'm sick of people treating Batman like an uber baddonkey , and of people trying to turn literally every superhero into Batman in some way.
claps That was beautiful...
@HawkeyeWii
I was talking about the Knightfall saga of the comics! Not the movie(s)!
Why couldn't the statue be of Superman fighting Batman. That would've been epic!
i hope that awesome fighting stick is made available at some point for the wii u...... day 1er for me.
@shinpichu
How can he be overrated if he is arguably the most under-powered of all superheroes?? He is the perfect hero. He shows that anyone can be a hero.
"It's not who you are underneath, but what you do, that defines you"
@AltDotNerd Okay then still, look at Bane, he has super steroids constantly beefing him up. You can kinda put the dots together on why he was the first person to "break" the bat..
@HawkeyeWii
Overrated =/= underpowered.
I call him overrated because I'm sick of people treating Batman like some uber-baddonkey . I'm also sick that everyone seems to want to turn every superhero into Batman in some way or another.
No collector's edition is a little sad. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a copy of this game, not mainly for myself though. I would have gotten the collector's edition if I could, but t seems I have to settle for the standard edition.
