Afternoon all, I'm currently running an ongoing tournament for my family while lockdown is in effect. We're playing Wii games, as it's the only console we all have access to. Does anyone have any suggestions for other games we could play?
Games we played in the 1st round.
Mario Kart
Excite Truck
SSX Blur
Games we'll be playing next weekend
Wii Sports
Samba de Amigo
Warioware Smooth moves
@Wargoose Well, first off, that would strongly depend on which games you own, I suppose, unless you're willing and able to do some online shopping.
The best suggestion I can make, is for you and/or your family to have a look at all of MetalJesus' Wii Hidden Gem and recommendations videos. Most of them aren't that long, so you'd be through the entire list within the space of an hour, probably less.
@WoomyNNYes All Wii's can, yes. But not out of the box, obviously. We can't just assume that everyone owns a soft-modded Wii, or enough GameCube controllers...

Yeah that's my issue with gamecube games. Not everyone has gamecube controllers, and some people have Wii U's. My exact situation is we've got four households taking part in our little tourney. We need to get a minimum of two games each, as one of the houses is 100 miles away. Thanks for the links by the way
@Wargoose You're welcome. Unfortunately, I only noticed after posting that from the three shops I linked to, ConsoleMAD is currently closed, due to the lock-down. There's a message on the site, explaining it in more detail, but it IS a cheap source for games, under normal circumstances.

@Wargoose On a side note: people not having GameCube controllers or playing Wii games on Wii U's wouldn't exactly be an issue or hindrance for being able to play GameCube games, if all of you would at some point softmod your Wii's and virtual Wii's inside the Wii U.
It's actually pretty simple to do, and it unlocks both the region setting and the native GameCube support in both the Wii and the Wii U. And on top of that, you could use Wii and Wii U classic and pro controllers instead, because these would be detected by the program that runs the GameCube games on soft-modded systems.
Maybe now is not the time to do this, but I'd say keep it in mind, and whenever you've decided that you might want to give that a go, then give me a heads up, and I'll point you in the right direction.
