@Megumi:
They said it, and that's all that really matters. If he would have said, Banjo shouldn't be in Smash, then I'd be like, where's Smash on Xbox.
As I said elsewhere, Nintendo should have tried to get Minecraft as an exclusive at least half a decade ago. The fact they completely ignored this massively successful indie game til Microsoft bought the creators, and still haven't got the game on their systems even now shows Nintendo's complete ignorance of the gaming world outside of Japan.

What makes you think Ninty didn't try, Miyamoto met with them to try a get it before and even talked about how it's beneficial to both of them with Minecraft not being big in Japan but Nintendo are.
Minecraft is just so... great. I really hope a sequel expands on the already incredible foundations and while its unlikely we'll see it on Nintendo/Sony console and I'm not going to buy an Xbox One just to play it I like Lumia phones so will hopefully get to play it
Hm? Minecraft is on the PS3, PS4, Vita...I'm sure they'd go back and put it on the PS2 and PSP if they had a time machine...there's really nothing stopping this and even Microsoft has been pretty open about supporting it on pretty much everything...
They wanted to put it on 3DS, but Android was/is priority along with Xbox and PS. That was also before MS bought Majong, too. 3DS and New 3DS still make more sense for this, but who knows. It would honestly be pretty awkward for some people to play it Wii U. They're better off putting Smartglass support on the Xbox One version, because that's actually their platform, and that's kind of what Wii U would be doing with the GamePad, so I don't think it is likely with other possibilities in mind. They might as well add PS Vita dual-play for PS4, too.

They didn't say they would wanted to put it on the 3DS, the quote I think you're thinking of was them just talking about how it would be ported over.
@arronishere:
It's a mix of that and what they wanted. They wouldn't be discussing porting unless they wanted it there. Wii U and 3DS are basically the only devices that don't have it, anyway. They wanted it on everything, but as I said, other devices are/were priority, so it didn't matter if they wanted it, and now Microsoft is in charge, sooo... The only reason why PS4 has it is because Majong was already putting it there. That's why I brought up putting Banjo in Smash, because it's basically the same as putting MC on Wii U and/or 3DS.

Why would you want a sequel for a base game that can just be updated constantly (which it is...) to further flesh it out and increase replayability and features?
@sWiTcHeRoO:
Because sometimes they do actually find some types of codes that aren't even compatible with the original game. They can update a game like CoD Black Ops II, but they can never update it to the point where it runs like CoD Ghosts. Even if people think CoD is a rehash every year, which it kind of is, it will still always be a different game. That's what I think it would be like if they released another Minecraft. I wouldn't be surprised if they updated the default graphics, and added more stuff. There is technically a reason why people who use mods to make Minecraft places(like the Zelda one) are using mods. Behavior and other stuff that they were messing with could technically be a major Minecraft improvement. That's why the village people are boring, because you could actually become their leader or something, So I would say a mix between Spore, Sims and Minecraft is where things could go if they really wanted to do that.

Minecraft is your typical Microsoft game. Multiplayer... alone in your room. Requires absolutely no skill, unless you consider clicking an art form. No real goals or objectives, just socialising online. Seems like the anti-Nintendo game. Mario Maker seems like the same kind of thing, but with more emphasis on creativity and sharing, having people use their skills to navigate your levels. Not just stand around typing about how cool it looks, lol.
