Topic: Xenoblade Chronicles 2

I'm disappointed in myself at how little I've played X after all this time. I mean, it's partially not my fault and it hasn't grabbed me quite as much as the original but there's still no excuse.

I kinda want to before this comes out. In like 2019. ...yeah, I'm not buying that 2017 release date.

@JaxonH But those faces though, yuck.. This looks a lot more appealing to me. I still need to finish the first game as well, don't know if I ever will at this point. Maybe someday, when I have a lot of spare time left and not a whole lot of other games to play.

Eh, the faces weren't that bad. Especially once I started playing the game and got accustomed to the art style, it started growing on me. It wasn't meant to be realism and I think that's what threw a lot of people off. But having played the game I can say there were a lot of other characters that had completely normal faces and I think that most people just focused on Lynn, and when you were playing the game looking at the actual character models you couldn't tell anything was weird or off.

Definitely a continuation of the Wii title. That sword is definitely a form of the Monaco, without a shadow of a doubt.
I for one am excited by this. Xenoblade was one of my most enjoyable non Zelda/Mario gaming experiences and as much as I've enjoyed the 250 odd hours I've pumped into XCX, I do feel that the original was a genuine masterpiece

So any word on how the games are connected yet? I only played about 20 hours of the first one and doubt that I would be able to finish that in time for the sequel. Did Xenoblade Chronicles have a definitive ending?

I haven't played X, but the first was great. I will get this for sure. If it is scheduled to come out this year, I can guarantee it will be delayed to next year (at least in North America).

No, 2018. Not falling for this again. I've seen so many games get delayed in the past few years, I can pick them out right away.

I freaked out when I saw this in the presentation. BUt, I am highly skeptical of it coming out this year. After they only relatively just finished X, and barely soon after that did the director say he hoped to go back to a more fantasy setting, I find it hard to believe that they're far along enough in development for it to release this year. I have a feeling they put it on the release schedule picture similar to why they always put Giant Robot on the Wii U's release schedule: To make it look fuller. I suspect it's going to be "delayed" to next year.

Of course, I'd love to be wrong and get this game ASAP. I much preferred the story and world of the original Xenoblade to the relatively bland characters and story of X. Now, all they need is the openness of X's world with the writing and characters of XC's. I'd probably die of happiness playing that game.

Yeah I doubt it'll be out this year...how long did it take X? From what I remember X was announced around Wii U's launch/announcement. Anyways, like I said with X...I'm into this series thanks to Smash 4. (even if I don't main Shulk, lol)

I still need to finish X, though...think I got close then decided to start over. Part of it is the sandbox part of the game, where the first one (and this one of course) are more focused on story. Also a Nopon better be playable.

I absolutely hate the character design, but considering the series past I'll overlook it. I'm mostly glad that they're returning to the original story line, but they really need to return to Mira in some capacity.

Side not, why aren't we talking about beast riding? Could this be the skell replacement for XC2?

I'm half-expecting this to be delayed into 2018, but MS may surprise everyone. As mentioned above, XCX was delayed for quite awhile.

If anything, it doesn't make sense for this year. Between Breath of the Wild and Skyrim, I think we have enough open world fantasy games for a year!

Can you maybe explain what you mean with spoiler tags? I'm not clear how this could be set in the same universe.

I loved the new character design, the girls' outfit specially remined me of Xenosaga.

As for the release date, Soraya Saga said in her twitter 2017... So it may be Holiday 2017 for Japan and 2018 for the west. If they're using the engine from X they can skip all that part at least. One of XCX's problems was that Monolith had to built a new engine from scratch.

This game needs to drop in 2017. This is what I'm most excited for, next to Zelda of course.
