Hey guys, I was wondering if you got the HORI tough pouch and/or the Premium console case. I am planning to get a Switch myself, and I need to know which is better. Thanks!

I bought the Hori Tough Pouch today but I am not impressed.

First of all, it is too broad. The Switch wiggles left and right. It isn't really tight.
Second, there is a lot of space under the Switch wasted. That the shoulder area takes more space has been ignored. So if there were pressure from atop, it would bend the Switch downwards. This would have been good space for a game compartment or something.
Third, the case is too high. If you don't pack in the wristbands (and why would you for portable??), there is too much space on top of the Switch. But there are no rubber bands to hold it in place. A lot of space wasted here. The case should have been slimmer.

This case gets 2/5 from me. It was clearly designed with only the dimensions at hand but no actual device to test it by Hori.

I got the case that is narrower and thicker. You detach the joycons and they sit in pouches above the main unit.

I like this design better, but there's only one out there although there are a few sellers offering it. It's non-descript black on the outside and orange on the inside.

I had both the Hori Tough Case and Gioteck's premium case and much more impressed by the latter.

It has is elasticated straps to hold the Switch and grooves in the bottom shaped like the back of the Switch.

It is a bit thicker than a standard case, but I see that as extra protection and a way to carry a travel charger and a pair of wrist straps.

I am happy with my Hori Tough case. The biggest value for me is the it protects the thumbtsticks plus I can throw a few cartridges in there as well. Still slim and portable.

I got an Orzly case. It's got a bit too much "wiggle" room for my liking - approx 3/4cm where the Switch can easily move left/right, even when elasti-strapped in. I don't know if the Switch could get damaged through normal movement, but I'd have preferred a tighter fit. A couple of foam blocks either side wouldn't have gone amiss.

The case also seems quite deep if you have no accessories to put in the lid, but it's not big enough to put the charger in (I don't think). It's also more soft and flexible than I was expecting, but still seems sturdy enough. Hopefully!

I used the 15% discount from the screen protector so got it for about £12 which is OK. It probably isn't worth more (IMHO).

@zitpig I didn't find that there was much wiggle room, it fits quite snug

Well, here's an image from mine. That's a pencil on the right BTW and it's not wedged in, there's still easily 1/4 cm room extra.

[EDIT] And yeah, I know the elastic helps (which isn;t on properly in that shot), but the whole thing moves if I tip it.

Doesn't look too bad ☺

I never said it was bad, just that there was a gap (larger than it appears in the photo above) and even when strapped in the Switch moves. I should video how easily it moves. Which differs from what you say in that yours is a snug fit.

I'll see when I get home and show you ☺

I am thinking about the orzly carry case. I looked at Filip( check him out on utube) and he gave his honest opinion, and it looked pretty good. I'm about to get a switch and needed a case
