@Joeynator3000 Minecraft is a game that requires TONS and TONS of research into its mechanics and watching other people play before you even boot the game up. I hear so many people with the exact same experience you have and I can’t say I blame you. It doesn’t help the switch version is awfully ported and full of micro transactions—I still resent Microsoft for what they’re doing to Minecraft even though I haven’t touched it in years. I will say though that at its core Minecraft is such a good game and one you can sink thousands of hours into and never get bored of, but the energy and effort requirements to get started—especially now with so many new mechanics added with every update—means I can’t honestly recommend it. That’s not a very helpful opinion for you now though isn’t it? Sorry 😞
@horizonisland Yeeeeaaaah, that wasn't the problem...I just find it to be very boring. Back then on PC I did like it here and there, and even on Wii U, but it gets more and more boring. I heard it's very fun with friends, but...big surprise, everyone I know doesn't care.

@horizonisland I love FE3H, put several hundred hours into it and I still have a couple routes to do. But I understand that people have different tastes.
@Eel I've heard that but Pokemon is one game I wouldn't be worried about load times with. I have hardly noticed any. Animal Crossing and the Xenoblade games I might not mind a slight improvement with though. They aren't bad at all in my book but enough that I do notice.
I should point out that I haven't felt like load times were bad since the PS1 era of CD based games though. I'm pretty forgiving. XD

@Heavyarms55 I didn’t mean to imply that the game or the people that like it are bad. Just not for me. But no I completely respect your tastes. I personally really loved some of the relationship dynamics like Hanneman + Manuela and Felix + Sylvain.
@Heavyarms55 well, the one long loading time is when you launch the game, and when you like to shiny hunt you end up doing that a lot. So I figured every little bit helps.

@Eel Ah, I suppose there is that. But I've not hunted any of the soft reset shinys this gen. It's pretty close the the bottom of my list of hunting methods.

That’s a very interesting topic. Sadly I have regretted buying some games digitally over the years mainly because I couldn’t sell them over since I ended up not liking them enough. However, that’s long time ago now.
Lately I have purchased digitally the Super Mario 3D All-Stars and have not regretted at all despite the fact that the included ports are the same games as before without any remastered content. That said I do wish the camera in Super Mario 64 would’ve been upgraded or patched. As it stands it’s still atrocious unfortunately.

...Minecraft, why did I do this? I bought it, started a game and stood there for like 10 seconds wondering "why am I not playing a different game?", haven't touched it ever since, this was a couple of years ago I think, can't remember.
That's exactly what I felt when I bought the Crash trilogy. After playing the likes of Super Mario 3D World (and Land), Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Odyssey, it felt like a complete waste of time to even revisit Crash, which felt painfully mediocre in comparison. Mario Kart has ruined all other kart racers for me. I have not the slightest inclination to play any other.
Speaking of Crash, I probably should give it another look, but I do feel silly for allowing myself to be taken in by its popularity. I recall playing 3: Warped on my cousin's PS1 back in the day, I can't say that I harbour any particular nostalgia for the PS1.
And I too bought Minecraft, but mainly to explore the Nintendo exclusive Mario world.
The game I most regret getting is Mario Tennis Aces. I love playing and watching Tennis but didn't enjoy this at all. Guess it's not meant to be at all realistic but it didn't feel good to play. Got AO Tennis 2 and it's much better at capturing the game.
Digital is definitely superior for the pick up and play factor that makes the Switch so great - in particular short burst indie games.
I have bought mainly physical for long plays (RPGs etc) however which works quite well.
Having said that I have a few digital regrets as I probably buy too many games and I am still to this day working out what I like and don’t like:
Mantis Burn Racing - boring top down racer that got a good review here
Starlink - bought it cheap in a sale but it was so dull and repetitive
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze - bought it at 30% off but it was still overpriced
Resident Evil 4 - turns out this style of game doesn’t do it for me
Retro City Rampage - somehow very high meta critic score for the switch version but hasn’t aged well
Cave Story - bought cheap in a sale and it seems to be much loved but seemed like it also had aged badly
Steamworld Quest - loved the other SE games, did not enjoy this one
Good Job - first few levels very fun, then gets boring fast
Edith Finch - highly critical reviewed but I couldn’t see why
Conversely, the one time I was glad I bought physically as I wanted to sell/return immediately was Bayonetta 2 - just felt like pure button mashing and that doesn’t do it for me
@Silly_G I totally get what’re you saying over there but if I’m not mistaken perhaps you shouldn’t compare late 90s games to 2017 goodnesses. After all Crash Bandicoot games are the very same from the PS1 era with upscaled graphics whereas Super Mario Odyssey or even Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are some of the greatest platform games of all time and quite modern too.
@crashcontrol Any particular reason as to why would prefer the physical cartridge instead of the digital download?
@BongoBongo Felt the same with Bayonetta 2 back on the Wii U even though I managed to Platinum mostly every level.
Personally I like buying digitally since I have access to Nintendo coupons plus I don’t buy many games to be honest. In every case in my humble opinion these are the mandatory Nintendo Switch titles so far for me:
