Topic: AEW Fight Forever

So it's confirmed as coming to the Switch now and the first trailer has just leaked.

I do like how Britt is beating up her boyfriend in the game.

I'm excited. It looks like a proper AKI Corp-styled wrastlin' game. Even though I don't care the slightest for today's product from either WWE or AEW, this game is on my radar.

On the one hand it is like... hey cool, more wrestling games on the Switch, that can't be a bad thing. But... this looks bad right? And like the Switch version I assume is gonna be even rougher? Wrestling Empire exists, why would I play this?

Eh, not much else out there for switch. I'll probably grab this when it's available.

Apparently FTR have been cut from the game. Their motion captures were corrupted or something so it's either delay the game or cut them. That sucks! Hopefully they will be part of an update or DLC.

Personally I don't care who is included or omitted on the roster.

My hope is that there's a create-a-wrastler; sky's the limit if there is.

If not, then I'll probably just use Sting most of the time.

I couldn't even tell you everyone on the roster since I'm not even able to watch it. But it looks like alot of the talent Ieft wwe and went over to aew. So im sure I'll see alot of familiar faces when I'm playing.

@NintendoByNature Yeah there alot who made the jump because Vince was too busy spending money on his sexual escapades but the go by different names. Some of them are, but I am not sure if they will be in the game are

His contract is up in January. Word round the campfire is that HHH wants him back. We'll see. They never liked each other personally but respected each other professionally, allegedly.

Edit: Scratch that, he was extended to 2024 in AEW.

Why does any discussion about AEW always quickly brings up WWE? lol

With CM Punk and Kenny Omega being very naughty boys who should become the new face on the box now? Mox would be an obvious choice as he's been the go to main event guy but MJF would give him something to brag about which is perfect for him plus a burberry pattern on the box would look nice. I'd personally would like to see Hook, Darby Allin, Jamie Hayter, Orange Cassidy, The Acclaimed, Pac and The Lucha Brothers get featured on the box too.

@jump I think you can leave Omega and the Bucks on there. Punk is... well, I don't think anyone knows what's going on with Punk.

@ElRoberico It depends on how long the suspensions last in my opinion as the game is out soon. In an ideal world the cover star is someone who is hot at the time and if the Bucks and Omega aren't even on the telly it looks odd to have them as a focus on the box.

I think there's more concern over AEW's tv contract situation with WB Discovery and the continued year-over-year decline of live event ticket sales than with who's on the cover of the game. And if the NBC Universal merger with WB Discovery happens, AEW will be folded into WWE.

The corporate landscape for wrastlin' in 2023 should be interesting.

@Magician That's not gonna happen. AEW is over preforming in it's slot and a major live sports is a big ticket item for networks now as people move to streaming. WB wants them but the issue is will it be a big bump of money to keep them expanding or if WB are being stingy with their cost saving and offer the same money. AEW isn't really a touring company so live event sales aren't a major issue for them.

The bigger problem is AEW bought Ring Of Honor on impulse (which they do in general as they keep adding to their roster without thinking of a longer term plan after the big intial announcement) and don't know what to do it so will they be able to package it and sell as a promotion or ROH dies.

@Magician Unless WWE out right buys AEW it can't be folded into WWE. More then likely if NBC buys out Discovery it would be a situation like what happened with WWE and ECW back with there tv deals in the 90s.

As for the cover I think Mox is the obvious choice. I can also see Jericho as well.

So a new video released by AEW Games showing off Jon Moxley in game. One thing of note is at the end of the video, they showed new cover art for the game with CM Punk Removed and Moxley in his place, so I guess that answers that question.
