@BonzoBanana @Polvasti I enjoyed all 3 games and do think that 3 has the best gameplay, but honestly: i never really thought it was that great. The fundamental idea of walking and waiting somewhere with auto attacks doesn't click very well with me, although it does have its highs when building up the different combos. Story is also a mixed bag with highs and lows usually. But the Setting, Music, World and Exploration is the stuff where these games really shine in my opinion.
However since the battle system actually goes better bit by bit in each game and they keep building up on it, i am pretty positive about the gameplay department too. Maybe they even shake up the whole gameplay system with the whole new story!

Man I can't believe how quiet this thread has been since the game was announced! When XC3 was announced the thread for that game was booming all the way to release (and continued even more after 😂)

Granted I guess the initial trailer didn't quite show that much so I guess there just hasn't been much to talk about. That being said, does anyone think we'll see more information in the potential September direct? I'm hoping so!

@Vortexeo There's been more news about the NS2 Editions of 1, 2 and 3 since the reveal that the conversation's focused on those at the moment. I'd love to see more, but I'll also admit that I haven't played 2, 3, or X yet.

Speaking of, I know this might not be the place, but have they actually fixed the Switch 2 Edition of X yet? I haven't bought a copy, but if it's all on cart, I don't mind getting the Switch 2 version.

@ElRoberico That is true! I guess it's possible we won't see any new news for a while since XC3s Switch 2 Edition isn't releasing until December.

I know they've fixed the Switch 2 Edition for XC2 recently but I don't think I've heard anything about XCX. I also never got the Switch 2 version for Xenoblade X so I don't have any first hand experience on how noticeable the issues are unfortunately 😅

@Vortexeo fair enough! Didn't XC2 also get the progression issues fixed as well? There was something about the gacha aspect of it that kind of turned me off from playing it for a while.

I think it's been pretty quiet due to the initial trailer not showing all that much, yeah. That being said- I still have a personal theory on what this game will actually focus on. Spoilers for Xenoblade 1, 2, 3, and X.

In Xenoblade 2, Klaus makes mention about how the experiment caused people from his world to be displaced into multiple different worlds. We never once saw this happen in 1-3, and X focused on an entirely separate version of earth with it's own issues. We know thanks to the radio in Future Redeemed, that Klaus' world had its own version of the Earthlife Colonization Project- or Project Exodus, and that nothing on that has been expanded yet.

The radio as a whole kinda gets written off as just being a reference to previous events from previous Xeno games, and I believed that was firmly the case due to it making mention of characters like Dmitri Yuriev, who's explicitly from XenoSaga. Yet, the Switch 2 Edition of Xenoblade 2 doesn't credit Bandai at all for Momo's inclusion as a blade, unlike how Kos-Mos and Tellos were handled. That, combined with evidence revolving around Bandai's website may suggest that Monolithsoft actually owns XenoSaga now.

If I had to guess, Xenoblade Genesis could potentially focus on what happened to the humanity that got displaced after the Experiment. We know from the trailer that there's a "mountain" that's pretty much just the hull of a massive spaceship that crashed into this inverted planet. It wouldn't surprise me either if the elves aren't elves, but rather either Samaarians- or descendants of ancient Samaar. If the entire planet is actually some sort of space station that the Samaarians built and forgot about at some point in time. It'll more than likely be a case that most of the characters don't know the origins of humanity or of Samaar, given that the coexistence in their society seems to be more natural, but there's one character who specifically says "I'm going back- to where I belong." So perhaps there could be one or multiple characters who know the truth of their world and desire to return to Samaar.

There's also other parallels worth mentioning, like how the six suns mirror the Ares cores, and how both the Ares cores and six suns mirror the concept of Sefirot. Or how it seems like either Logos and Pneuma might be connected to this place, even if this game isn't in the same world as Xenoblade 1, 2, and 3. There's a reason X's chapter 13 introduced the lore that it did while trying to also connect itself to the other games in the series. There's a reason why 3 itself parallels X in those same concepts. Genesis is by all intents and purposes Xenoblade 4 from what we can gather, so it'll more than likely pick up on all of these lore pieces.

@ElRoberico it did have a few issues fixed yeah! The gatcha system is still there of course but originally you used to have specific blades equipped in order to use their field skills. In the switch 2 version now you don't need to equip them, as long as you have them their skills can be used. This was such a huge QOL change because there were many side quests and parts of the world that require them and it was annoying to have to go to the menu, switch your party up and then switch back to what you had. But now we don't have to do that anymore

@VoidofLight Dude, omg it didn't even cross my mind that the elves could be related to the samaarians. That would actually be so sick. I was initially a little disappointed by the newly added chapter 13 in XCX when I first played it but it would be great if it gets to be fleshed out more.

@Vortexeo I feel like they have to be mainly because Void's body is the only other being in the series that looks elf-like, or has the same elf-like ears. Well, Void and Z... which there's also a theory that suggests that Z is the collective fears of the people within Origin possessing Void's original body. It would fit given that Void and Z both have big "satan" symbolism in their designs, with the massive horns. It would also ironically create another instance of Anima and Animus being potentially involved, tying even more of a Klaus and Zanza connection to 3's overall plot.

Either way, I do think that X's Chapter 13 is setting up some sort of guidance or path for the future of the series. Just like aspects of 3 have. We still don't know much about concepts like the Fog, or how that relates to the Ghosts (which it very much does from everything we know so far). Even with Future Redeemed, the Fog still hasn't fully been answered or touched upon.
