As we all saw, Capcom revealed Pragmata is releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 day and date with other versions on April 24th, 2026.
I hadn't been following this game much because I quit playing on non-hybrid consoles a few years ago. But now that it's coming to Switch 2, I had to do some digging and research what it's all about.
And while I'm still not quite sure what to make of it, I do know this: Capcom never misses. They don't really release bad games. Even their "misfires", if you could call them that, are solid releases.
I'm really hoping this game includes gyro aiming and/or mouse aiming, given the fact shooting is such a core mechanic. They're usually pretty good about that- Monster Hunter Rise had gyro, Resident Evil Revelations 1/2, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 all featured gyro, and even Street Fighter included some weird gyro mode (though it was motion gestures, not gyro aiming, obviously). And RE Requiem will have gyro, according to devs.
Game releases complete with an amiibo and everything. The Diana amiibo, just like Resident Evil Requiem's Grace Ashcroft amiibo and the 3 Monster Hunter Stories 3 amiibo and the 3 Street Fighter 6 amiibo. Dang. Capcom all in on the amiibo! Plus they already had Ryu, Ken and 15 Monster Hunter amiibo lol.
I had zero interest in this game when it was first shown, and now that it's coming to Switch 2, I will be getting it day 1. (assuming it runs well enough) Capcom is absolutely killing it with these Switch 2 releases, 3 RE games with RE9, and this being day and date with the other consoles is huge! Excited to try the demo when it drops, and I'm curious about what the Amiibo does. I wonder if whatever it unlocks is exclusive to the Switch 2 version? I would assume it probably is.

I saw it in the options of the demo. You can toggle on motion sensor and adjust the horizontal and vertical axis sensitivities. Alright, I'm 100% in now, without question. That's all I needed. Capcom does it again!
@iLikeUrAttitude
I like it. The theme of the game has been that pure white ever since it was revealed. So few games dare to release with such a boxart, so it really makes it stand out imo.

I beat the Pragmata Sketchbook demo today, and I'm impressed. The balance between shooting and dodging, while trying to hack, forms a very unique form of tension I haven't experienced in a game bedore.

@ElRoberico
It's coming to consoles but for now it's only on Steam. I dusted off my Steamdeck OLED to give it a shot.
But the demo will release on NS2 at some point before release. And I highly recommend you try it. Takes a bit to come to terms with the mechanics but once it clicks, and you have the two hemispheres of your brain working in tandem (one for reflexes while the other is puzzle solving) it hooks you in a way very few other games have even attempted (maybe The World Ends With You on DS?).

@JaxonH I didn't see it during the Awards....??? I figure GKC......preordered....Hope to get the same bonus like deluxe....missing those other Bonuses..??? Will we get those too? Where are you seeing the Demo download? Guess I will have to order those other bonus items when times comes.
@larausjarod
Demo isn't out on Switch 2 yet. Only Steam. Consoles are getting the demo later.
Don't know about the bonuses but I doubt it. Physical game is $60, same as the base version. The Deluxe version is $70, and I'm sure that content can be purchased separately for $10 more.
There will be preorder bonus content though, that should be included with the physical. And we have yet to learn what the amiibo does.

@JaxonH Ahhh gotcha. I wasn't sure if it was available on console yet. Hopefully I have enough space on my PS5 to check it out. It looks... complicated.

Hey guys! I just tried the Pragmata demo on Switch 2 and the game is really good! Nice twist on shooters with the hacking mini-game.
Performance is pretty much flawless, Capcom engineers are genius. Visuals are good, but it’s easy to see that shadows are very low quality (recurrent theme on Switch 2 games), lightning is simplified although still good, the hair is simplified but still good, and mostly important image quality is paired back. It’s quite blurry in handheld mode (not as blurry as AC Shadows, but blurry nonetheless) and it’s also softer in docked mode for some reason, maybe it’s just the demo build? I expected docked to have sharper image quality…
I’m not sure about this one. The game feels fun, and portability beats high-end graphics, but poor image quality is very distracting for me. I wish all ports aimed at matching or getting close enough to 1080p portable.
@RenanLK I agree, the blurrines in the demo was kinda distracting to me too, and the lower quality textures and animation in details like Diana's hair wasn't a good look either. I understand that they've had to make some visual compromises in order to have the game run at a solid 60 FPS, and in a fast-paced action game like this performance is the most important thing, but I do still hope they manage to squeeze some improvements to the image quality before the final release.
@Polvasti Is 60fps in docked mode? Because in handheld it's definitely only 30, but it is a consistent 30 so I don't mind at all.
It targets 60 FPS, the frame rate does dip during moments when there's a a lot of particle effects, etc. onscreen, but honestly you don't really notice it. SwitchCorner has a nice analysis video if you wanna get more into details:
I haven't tried the demo yet but I've heard that turning off Lens Distortion improves the image quality, apparently that was also an issue with RE4 Remake
Beat the demo last night, playing in handhold. Very fun game, really cool concept that makes your left side of your brain work closely with the right side. So it takes a minute, but after about 20 minutes it starts to click. Game is going to be great.
Performance wise, it’s pretty impressive. I saw the comparison videos of it looking better than Series S, and it is running with very little sacrifice. It’s looking great, but clear where capcom had to scale back (hair and shadows), but when you’re playing, that doesn’t matter. This demo has me excited for RE9, and this game has shot up on my watch list.
Ok, so I take all my words back. Just played the PS5 demo then Switch 2 back to back.
Switch 2 version is insanely impressive docked. It’s quite close to PS5 in most areas, with cutbacks in resolution, hair, lighting and shadows mostly that are still within diminished returns territory.
Also there is one thing that Switch 2 beats PS5 - there is a lot of flickering in PS5 image, every line seems to be constantly moving. You look at a set of stairs while being still and it’s almost like the stairs are moving, for example. Switch 2 is perfectly stable in the same assets. Probably a case of Nvidia’s AA beating AMD’s.
