@squiddu-real Seems like another version of those old NFC readers that Nintendo sold separately to old 3DS owners. Where it connects to the console if the console doesn't have NFC functionality.

Wonder if this means that there's going to be a new Switch 2 console that won't have NFC included at all in the console itself. Either that, or this might be for phones?

@VoidofLight a friend of mine noted how the new my mario toy car has the feature of changing what music it plays depending on what wood block is placed into it, which most likely uses nfc. wouldn't be surprised if it's that, though the mention of nintendo of america in these patents implies maybe it won't take as long for it to show up here?

Gotta hand it to these massive companies: they really do know how to manipulate their audiences.

Headlines on sites and YouTube recently about the 600% increase in game key card sales this year, and all the talking heads adopting similar lines like, “Key cards aren’t that bad when you really think about it.”

Just another example of the powers that be forcing garbage down your throat, and eventually the peons say, “At least it’s not actual poison.”

(Also tried to get Zelda tickets in Boston today as soon as they dropped. Anyone wanna guess if I was successful? lol)

What a world.

Lowkey considering double dipping on dark arisen.

I have close to 400h on DD2 because the game just hits all the right notes as far as fantasy traveling goes and the core gameplay is just rock solid. Spent most of the day play Dark Arisen and it's THE perfect addition to what DD2 ser out to do. It's fairly different in many ways, where vanilla wants you to meet it halfway and just vibe with hoe exploration is set up and how goofy shenanigans WILL be around every corner, Dark Arisen is incredibly focused on letting you explore HUGE, interconnected dungeons and caves. There's an area around the center of the setting that legit feels like it's pulling some Dark Souls 1 s*** with how there's three or four connections between three large area at different spots and how it loops around itself.

And i just love that stuff. DA2 is doing A LOT of stuff i always wished more games tried, basically always wanted the kind of feeling good Metroidvania games nail in a 3D setting, with combat that's actually good (sorry, Fromsoft. Y'all are only really good at making very interesting areas) The story is very lowkey so far, but not in a bad way, it's actually also something that's similar to Metroidvania games. And the hook item being a consumable probably opens up some uniaue routes for consecutive playthroughs/NG+ runs because i already found some points that could serve as shrotcuts anf alternate ways around some areas.

Basically... I'm very willing to give capcom my money for this lmao
They have been absolutely on fire for the past 8 years or so, with...basically no miss, imho. Some lesser re-releases here and there but you can't really be mad at them for actually bothering to put their catalog on modern platforms. The fact that dragon's Dogma apparently also runs well on switch 2 is just another thing in favor of their output over these past two console gens.

@rallydefault all the big companies did to me was be stupid enough that i no longer completely despise gkcs. is sony manipulating audiences into buying more games from another company or, perhaps, did everyone just move on and realize it's ridiculous to hate them so much?

still not really gonna buy them whenever possible, but it's not gonna kill me.

...like it sounds like it would do to you, for some reason

I'm really enjoying The Crew Motorfest. I didn't really give it a second thought on PS5, because I had Forza Horizon 5, but decided to give the Switch 2 version a try. It definitely scratches that Forza Horizon itch. It looks great and runs really well (if you don't mind 30 fps).

I'm loving the quantity and quality of 3rd party releases. I'm 100% certain I'd sell my PS5 if it wasn't for GTA VI, Infact I might even do just that once I've finished it.

@squiddu-real
Dear lord calm down for once. When did I say buying a gkc would “kill” me? Stop with the ridiculous exaggerations.

It sucks when physical media is made but you don’t actually get the copy on the disc/cart, full stop, end of story, not even debatable. And me taking a stance and not buying them is me taking a stance and not buying them, plain and simple.

In the eyes of the companies, they’re conditioning you to expect less and less from your purchases, and it’s working, plain and simple.
