My issue is the ownership.

I want to own a copy that HAS the game data (a playable build of the game) on it. And that is it.

I do not care about resellability, renting etc.

That is worth MY money. If they can't provide that and the publishers think more of their margins, instead of their customers, then I can find that software WAAAAAY cheaper (free) somewhere else.

Also just to confuse the matter you get physical games where the DLC is included as a one off code and you get that a lot nowadays. So you buy lets say Fallout 4 on disc and the DLC is a single use code so when you sell the game it is not complete and the DLC is quite expensive on its own. It's a bit like the old shareware system where you got to play the first main set of levels for free but if you wanted extra levels you had to pay. Maybe there was five sets of levels and the first one was completely free and the other four often the best levels were paid. Many disc games feel like that nowadays if buying secondhand as the DLC is an additional purchase. That is not to say there isn't a lot of content for Fallout 4 the main game but I would definitely want to have the main DLC too. If you buy Fallout 4 the game of the year addition I would expect it on the disc but its just a one use code. This means tons of people have paid DLC attached to their accounts that they can never play as they sold on the main game. Disconnecting the game from the DLC seems annoying to me.
