I have a question - if buying the new Switch is there anyway to get some money off by trading an old switch (in the UK) and if so how would the transfer work?
If not then probably would have to sell my old switch some other way as can’t see the value in keeping both around.
@BloodNinja Back in the nineties, we had a different outcome for teams that weren't able to beat each other in the allotted match time: golden goal, which meant just keep on playing, switching sides every 15 minutes, until one of the teams scored, which was basically also luck of the draw. Nowadays, we first have two match halves of 45 minutes, then two times 15 minutes of overtime, and if it's then still 0-0 or any other kind of draw, then we get penalties.
It sucks and I always hate it, so I always hope for a last second goal, but especially as the finals draw near, there'll be more evenly matched teams, so overtime is basically already a given, and penalties are always looming in the background...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
No, it most definitely did NOT! The Spanish were dangerous from the very first minute, fought for all they were worth, while the Italians were just their opportunistic, sneaky selves. Spanish football is SO much more beautiful. I hope that whoever wins the other semi-final, will completely kick the crap out of the Italians, both figuratively speaking and literally. It certainly wouldn't be a bad thing if they were given a healthy dose of their own medicine...

I have the V2 switch and I see no reason to do the upgrade personally. It's all a matter of preference though I guess.
Same here. I'm pleased there's a new model, but as I figured it's only a mid-life minor improvement. I'm fine with this and am not surprised; Nintendo wouldn't risk alienating sections of their fanbase with a major revision yet. Especially since the other two models are doing so well. I really don't understand why some are so bent out of shape about it; I think the new model is fine, but I'm satisfied with my V2 Switch and see no reason to upgrade right now. If my current system kicks the bucket, I'll likely get the OLED Switch. I play mostly docked anyway and don't mind the current screen size in handheld for most games.
Some people just buy way too much into rumors I guess. It's find to discuss them, but I never believe anything until it comes straight from the company in question.
@TheJGG I'm a sucker for some forms of sweets, so that new photo of the sticky toffee pudding is already better! Though while the previous photo didn't have as much visual appeal, I'm sure it was very delicious. I learned ages ago that presentation, when it comes to food, is onli part of the equation.
As for Bowling For Columbine...that's a documentary I haven't watched, but would like to. I was very young when it happened, so I don't recall any of the news coverage at the time. The first large-scale tragedy I remember knowing about as it happened...was 9/11. I have a curiosity related to school shootings, if only to ask...why did this happen?
Briefly on guns, as they're a touchy subject: they are easy to get depending on where you are, and regulations vary from state to state. It's harder to get them in my state than some others. First, someone needs to register to get a FOID card (Firearm Owners Identification), which involves a background check and other procedures. Processing can take 30-60 business days (though it has been a lot longer with the pandemic; there's a heck of a backlog). They do issue concealed carry permits, but open carry isn't allowed here. And I'm only discussing legal certification methods. Due to my upbringing and preferences, I certainly can understand both sides of the debate. It's something I'd love to discuss, but I feel like I'm poking the sleeping rule lion with a stick at this point.
@ThanosReXXX Digging that food pic by the way, though I'm usually not a picky eater.
Normally, I couldn't fall asleep in a movie theater either. I don't know if you've ever been to an IMAX movie theater, but they are very loud, and the seats tilt back to view a large, dome-like screen that takes up most of your vision. It wasn't very crowded. The fact that I even dozed off is proof of how dead I was! We'd traveled through the night, so naturally I was excited and couldn't sleep. I tried to sleep on the bus and plane, but it's very hard for me to sleep on transportation.
@Offolsense Nice to see you in the thread! This is where some of the cool kids hang out. I've been visiting the site since 2011 when I was digging for Skyward Sword news, but I finally signed up in 2015.
