Not surprised in the least. But a shame.

Her music was awful and she was a heavy drinker and a drug lover. Sad she's dead, yes, but nothing to cry over... besides everyone has to die at some point just seems she wanted to go early to me.

I've gotta agree with most people here. It's unfortunate but not terribly surprising.

i just hope this is a wake call for anynody trying to kick drugs or thinking of starting to take drugs.
i`ve seen friends go the same road, and seeing their dependancy on that sh&^ is pathetic, and makes me mad that that those dealers are profiting on my friends addiction.

@my_point_is What I hate most about drugs is that you can rely so heavily on them, so much so that everything else in your life is worthless... eventually you need that kick to keep your life happy and an escape from your overwhelming problems, even though the cause for it all are the drugs in the first place...

People who profit on people's addictions and then cause peoples deaths is pretty sickening to me.

Amy could've been a lot better if it wasn't for the booze and the drugs.

Her death was her own fault, and I believe she is no different than any other unknown drug addict that slowly killed themselves. Thus, I see no reason why she should be remembered anymore than they are, which is not at all. The only thing that separated herself from some drug-addicted homeless person was that she got lucky and was noticed.

Makes me think of my childhood friend, who recently committed suicide because of his addiction to heroin.

I am getting a bit tired of the "I guess I should have gone to Rehab..." crap on the internet.

She joined the 27 club.

Aw man. My condolences to her family and friends. I don't care what people say about druggies and drinkers, if you don't personally know somebody then you have no right to talk about them disrespectfully.
Other than that, yeah I'm sad for the loss. I didn't particularly like her music but it's still unfortunate she died so young.

@OverlordMao What about someone like Hitler? I'm not sure if the "don't diss people you don't personally know" argument holds up entirely.

A sad death to be sure, but it also could have been prevented. It shows what drugs can do to a person.

But instead of reporting on that, the news centres around the loss of the talent. Which is definitely a huge loss, like MJ was. But I've seen no stories on the dangers of drugs yet.

OMG~!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not know she died until I saw this topic! I remember seeing her music and music video when I lived with my mom in NC I was 13 at the time and it was her song called Rehab. But that is true everyone knew she would die soon just a matter of time.

When I saw a report about her being addicted to drugs and and smoking and drinking, I thought to myself she wont live long.

She died of emphysema.

Yeah, poor Amy. Although, realistically she brought this upon herself. Tragic.
