Topic: Mature games

How would you define a mature game? After playing through Gears of War 3 i realized my definition of "immature". My ranting for that is in the XBox360 thread.
For me, the most mature game i played was Zelda: Majora's Mask because it's underlying themes of healing, love and happiness.
I would also like to hear your age with the arguments (I'm 29).

Well, adults should be mature, but that's starting to be pretty rare these days. Also, where did i mention Kirby? That is one series that really is mainly targeted for children.

The term "mature" is subjective.

It shouldn't matter to you what someone thinks is a mature game or not.

It matters to me as long as they keep putting out games which turns the industry worst. But that's just me and my opinion; as you said it's subjective. My subjective opinion is that there's already an overload of mindless violence in the market compared to themes i perceive to be more mature.

There are lots of immature people who play these mature rated games. But anyhow, it's just a rating and shouldn't be taken literally in terms of definition.

Mature rated means the game contains content not intended for underage people. It has absolutely nothing to do with overall theme or story of the game.

Some parents are sensitive to their children or teens being exposed to excessive blood, cursing, nudity, drugs etc...... the M rating is to warn parents the game may contain content they do not approve.

It doesn't matter if a game is "mature" as long as you think the game is good. It especially doesn't matter whether someone else thinks a game is "mature".
