I take the obvious ds/gba/gb and normally take my gamecube, I don't know why but it feels like the gc is really easy to travel, on my last weekend vacation I brought my wii, which may have been a mistake, my laptop case was so big, because I intended to play wii and gc games, there was just too much stuff to take (wiimotes, nunchucks,av cables, power cable, sensor bar, wiimote charging dock with cable, gc controllers, it was just too much, but even when i do bring a console I really don't advance deeper in any story I mostly just goof around with melee and some mario sports games.SO do you bring any game consoles with you on vacation (besides the obvious handhelds)?
nope never, i sometimes bring my 3ds for the car ride, but after that, i never touch my 3ds until the car ride home.

Whenever I go on holiday abroad, I like to whip out the old DS and/or GB Micro. I'll only bring my Wii if I'm holidaying in England. I worry for the health of my older consoles so I don't bring them along.
Generally though, I try to limit my gaming on holiday, instead focusing on reading and other similarly sophisticated past-times, such as croquet.
I always bring my PSP, DS Phat, DSi, 3DS, Nano, and my SWEET Wii !!!!!! I can't be without my Wii, I never have missed a single trip without packing it to take with me, its apart of me, oh and fun.

How freaking far do you travel and how little is there to do when you get there. Seriously I wouldn't take that much junk with me if I was taking a month-long holiday to a cave on the moon.

I'd take my 3DS... but probably never play it.
1 week or 2 weeks, I am 17 and I can stay at the hotel and get to play on it as much as I want to at the hotel, I don't have a tv at home so I take it with me so I can get some use out of it. Oh and my family travel a lot!

As you can see from above I'm usually already carrying too much weight on my camping trips (which encompass most of my vacations) to bring anything else along.
Well when I was I kid I always took my Gameboy with me on every family vacation we took. Now I dont go on vacations too much the last time I did was Disneyland 6 years ago and I took my GBA along for the trip but mostly for my son to watch those Gameboy videos on it if you remember those at all.

DS goes, with at least one RPG for the car rides and inevitable slow spots.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
