Topic: Weird website issue...

Sometimes it works fine, like right now when I came here to post this thread.

Other times...the main page has issues loading everything, then I click on an article or try to go to the forums, or even click on a thread. Everything becomes stuck on loading, it's been happening for about a week now, and I don't know what happened. Is it a browser thing? I'm on Chrome....anyone else having this issue?

@Joeynator3000 Sometimes Chrome goes weird on me too. It almost always comes down to simply updating the browser to it's newest version. No issue with NL myself atm and I'm using Chrome as well …

My browser updates automatically...so I don't know what's going on.

@Joeynator3000 I've not noticed anything here myself, also using Chrome/Windows. You could try rebooting the PC, or clearing the cache for our domain.

In honesty, the only thing that comes to mind is the adverts dragging down performance ("blocking"), this can be isolated to specific geographic regions depending on what ad is causing the issue. Usually they will go away again as things rotate around — it would explain why it's only happening /sometimes/ for you.

If you know how to open up the Chrome console and watch the data as the page loads it would likely show where the blocking is coming from.

@antdickens The notification alert has stopped working. It was fine last night before I went to bed around 2 AM PST but this morning when I got up it stopped working. I had a few users reply to messages I posted, but I never got the notification that they replied. In fact when I got to notifications it doesnt list them, just the ones from yesterday. I am using Chrome as my browser if that helps.

@Tasuki looks like it’s working in some cases but not all. I did made a change the other day that must be related. I’m away today so won’t get a fix until tomorrow 🫠

@antdickens Similar to @Tasuki , my notifications also stopped working. I checked a few threads and I notice people responding to me, but I never got the notifications. Just letting you know this is happening to me too.

@antdickens Looks like it's happening to me, too. If this helps you out, I got a response that both quoted and mentioned me. I got a notification that I was quoted, but not one that says I was mentioned.

I didn't get notifications from somebody replied me on Forum Threads.
