Topic: an easier way to streetpass

Ok we all love that little 3DS feature called streetpass, many 3DS owners including myself will agree that seeing that green light makes us happy and think that i just walked past someone who also owns a 3DS. but as good as it seems streetpass has a downside, my coat is great for holding my 3DS while im out because it has inside pockets away from theives and it wont fall out. but in the summer months when is warm i dont need my coat, so i try to put my 3DS in my pocket, it wont fit, i can put it in but it might fall out, a theif might take it and i might get wet if its raining. so what if there was an easier way to do it, well my idea is that nintendo should release a pokewalker type thing that streetpasses for you. when you buy it download an app from the eshop which copies all the streetpass data from the 3DS to the little machine. you can leave your 3DS at home, your hotel room, your cabin on a ship where ever and the little device will streetpass for you. it will work like this once your 3DS streetpass data is on it and you walk pass another person with a 3DS or another one of this product it will streetpass just like a 3DS would. to see if you got a streetpass it will glow green, go back on the app and the streetpass data will be copied back on your 3DS ready to be used in games and the streetpass mii plaza.

As unselfish as Nintendo always is (/me pauses for sarcastic laugh) i think one of their aims is that you take your 3DS outside to actually play it. So i doubt they'd go for such a solution.
Personally i always place it in a backpack. For this purpose already a cheap one should do the trick.

Either buy a backpack like battLeToaD suggested or buy pants/shorts that the pockets will fit a 3DS.

It's like that rumour they had about the Wii U that there would be a gamer card that would streetpass with the 3DS and Wii U. I got all excited when it appeared in the conference and turned out to be a pedometer for Wii Fit U. When they said it was more than just a pedometer, I started to think "no way, the gamer card is for real," but then it turned out the extra was merely the ability to measure altitude, lol lol lol. I think Nintendo might have missed an opportunity there, although I think it would be more expensive than people think to make it do streetpass and have the extra battery power for it, and the rumour was that it would only be $5-$10. If they could make a small, cheap device to do streetpass, I would definitely carry it around more though, as I definitely do fear my 3DS getting stolen at times and don't take it with me.

Girls are lucky. I carry a handbag so I always have a place for my 3DS. I even bought a small over-the-shoulder type bag that's just a little bit larger than the 3DS so I can carry my phone and a few other bits. How do you guys manage without some sort of bag to carry your things? I'd get a backpack if I were you. Or what about cargo pants/trousers?

get a backpack or normal pants lol

most of the time i use a backpack when i dont where a jacket/coat.
sometimes i just put it in my pant's pockets. never really had problems with that. but i am VERY careful when i got my 3ds with me. i would freak out if it falls out of my pocket or gets lost

My 3DS in its case fits in the pockets of my jeans no problem.
Half the point of having a portable system is so you can actually play it when you're out, StreetPass is just an extra feature to encourage you to take it with you.
Just get a bag or some pants with bigger pockets, problem solved.

Or nintendo can make streetpass online for Reggie sake.
We don't live in japan, so we're less likly to run into anyone here with a 3DS.
I on the other hand already finish all my puzzles on the 3DS, but its still not fun to walk around with your 3DS.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

I usually put it in my jacket or a cargo pant pocket. Too bad this isn't 1990, and we can't just wear one of those waist packs anymore without looking hopelessly out of style, lol. Those things were great for Game Boys.

Half the time those kinds of pants don't fit them either, LOL. I just have to hold my 3DS, or wear one of the 3-ish pairs of pants with pockets big enough to hold it. And people want an XL version of this thing? No thanks!

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Okay the Vita is a little bit bigger than the 3DS and it has control sticks rather sliders/pads... to be honest I'd hate putting a Vita in my pocket because there will still be a pit sticking out and those control sticks might get damaged.

The 3DS is nice and small and fits in my pocket fine, however it really makes one side of your trousers really bulged and rectangular... I've got some funny looks before, but hey I don't care. I'd put it in a backpack, but I prefer going as minimalistic as possible. I don't understand women and handbags at all, that's why POCKETS were invented people! So you don't have to carry stuff.

This comment is full of fail. If streetpass was online, it wouldn't exactly be a "streetpass" now would it? I think lots of people think it's fun to walk around with their 3DS on them. I know I love having it on me and then seeing that green light glowing.

Just giving you a hard time here.

You kids and your skinny jeans... In my day every self respecting gamer wore baggy pants. I could easily fit a whole N64 in the pack pocket of one of my pairs of pants in particular. That's the "old man shworange" coming out...

The 3DS is a pain for me since I typically wear my skinny jeans and what not, but I put it on my back pocket when I walk around and unfortunetly when I sit down I have to place it somewhere, or I put it in my hoodie pocket.

Yeah, I'd like to have a small, inexpensive device that does this for me. I never carry my 3DS with me because I'm always afraid of the shoulder buttons taking a beating or it just falling out of my pockets. And they're already crammed enough as it is anyway.
