Update: The first episode is now live! You can watch it for yourself right here.
Original Article: The Pokémon Company has revealed that we'll be getting a new 'capsule' series early next year, exclusively on the internet.
Pokémon: Twilight Wings takes place in the Galar region made famous by Pokémon: Sword & Shield, and will span seven five-minute episodes. The series will "show in detail the dreams of Galar's residents", as well as the "challenges they must overcome and the conflicts they must resolve". Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region are expected to feature heavily.
Animation duties are being provided by Studio Colorido, the celebrated team behind the anime film Penguin Highway (trailer shown below). The first episode is expected to air on January 15th, 2020 and can be seen on the Pokémon YouTube channel.
The series will be directed by Shingo Yamashita, with the script coming from Sou Kinoshita. Character design will be undertaken by Shin Ogasawara.

Can we have the last series of Sun/Moon on Netflix, NowTV or Amazon any time soon though? Been waiting for that for ages.
I mean, er, my kids have been waiting.
@deKay Don't worry, I've (little brother) been watching a lot of Beyblade and Digimon recently.
@Reigestugatensho Now that I've been playing Digimon again I have an urge to watch the old shows.
@deKay download the Pokemon TV app, is great. Had all of Sun & Moon episodes. And it's free
Oh this will be interesting! Pretty excited to see it. Always a good thing when they spend more time on others in the Pokemon Universe
@Ttimer5 I know, but I've no way of showing that on my TV - screen mirroring doesn't work on the app
Do those get English VA? Because I would expect proper English VA. With accents and everything.
@deKay Did a quick search, the app should support Chromecast if you have one.
@TophatDragoneye I don't, sadly. The first two series are on Netflix - why not the 3rd? Some of the 3rd series is on ITV catchup, but not all of it! So annoying.
Hi dekay maybe you should look into getting a chromecast dongle then you could watch it on your tv.
@Nate_pokemaster Yeah, or they could just put it on Netflix with the others
Why do they always put the promising stuff in little side stories? Make a whole series like Generations please. (But I will admit it's easy to buy my partial forgiveness with an episode about the Spikemuth siblings.)
@YozenFroghurt : A galah is a type of native Australian cockatoo.
I dread to contemplate how they would dub Alf's dialogue for overseas markets.
Cool! This is what i want, the current Pokemon series just doesn't feel right.
@Manah I love the accuracy of the Pokemon Generations series. The Pokemon actually del and receive damage. It's not just little puffs of smoke and explosions anymore. I also fell in love with the nods to the original game(s).
