Come on Nintendo we need at least some early footage of the next mainstream Mario or Zelda, I don’t mind if we have to wait a year or so for them but it would be nice to have something to be excited about. MKW is great, DKB is awesome, they’ll keep me going for a while but other than those games I haven’t seen anything else I’m excited about. Maybe Metroid but I’m not a fan of 3D Metroids. Just throw in a few surprises at the end of the direct, come on. Knock my socks off tomorrow please. Tom Nook should be the presenter, that’ll do it lol.
So many new games have come out for Switch recently and still have some upcoming titles on the way. With Christmas so close they would be silly to announce it now because it would hurt sales. However, that being said, if the Switch 2 is backward compatible with current Switch games then unless the Switch 2 has some super fantastic ground breaking must have new feature then people aren't really going to be in a rush to get it, Unless they announce a new Zelda/Mario title for the launch that only works on Switch 2.
I do wonder what new features it will have over the current Switch. Better graphics and a longer battery life mean nothing to me, and if that's all it has to offer then my current Switch is fine for many more years, the battery life is good and the graphics are great.
They also need to release a cheaper integrated console because I very rarely use my Switch in portable mode. Just give us a traditional console with no screen or battery and a Switch 2 Lite for those who want portability. Job done.
