Hi, one of the testers of Evergate here. First of all, excellent review. I just wanted to weigh in on the speedrunning aspect. Myself, and the majority of the alpha and beta tester teams were speedrunners. They wanted the puzzles to not just be fun to solve, but to solve FAST. In the menu there is an option for insta-fire, which then allows you to move extremely quickly through the levels. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc4Wnn4sWbI This element of speedrunning adds a another type of replay-ability to the game, and a sense of accomplishment when you finally nail those fast shots. I agree that aspect isn't for everyone, but it was definitely built into the core of the game from the very beginning.
