So please once again, is this a 60 Hz PAL import like Ogre Battle or a forced 50 Hz massacre like MUSHA? This is really the most relevant point for the PAL-audience when deciding whether or not to purchase this title!
How about virtual console C= 64 or NES? The original C=64 Pirates! were ported to the NES, don't know if it was any good, though... And might be a problem to play the early versions (pre-GOLD) without a printed map.
Yeah, me too, as opposed to Sid Meier's Pirates! v. 2004 "Uncharted Waters : New Horizons" looks really interesting and "pirates!"-like. What a pity I've never played it!
"MicroProse released its original incarnation for the PC in 1987..."
The game was originally made for C= 64 and then PORTED to the PC and Apple II...
Anyway, this 2004-remake is really terrible. Hope they could release a port of the original game or perhaps Pirates! Gold, any of those would be better than this 3D for the sake of 3D bs that the 2004-version is such a fine example of...
Excellent Work, Betagem 7! So are the imports we get in 60 Hz e.g. Ogre Battle March of the black queen, in NTSC or PAL 60? I suppose converting games that were originally released in NTSC to PAL 60, would require some recoding, or am I wrong, folks?
Do I see a pattern forming here? Remember when we got Mario Kart Wii ahead of NA but had to wait for brawl. Maybe a vague attempt to even out all the inequalities ;>
@ wmdwf That's exactly the sort of template answer I had expected... And I'm sure that every single customer e-mailing NoA about this will, get a duplicate of the reply you were given. That's the way these customer services work! I consider this "myth" busted...
If people are uncertain about the validity of the statement coming from the customer support rep., why don't someone try and e-mail customer support about the slowdown of vc-releases. If the same answer is given, it just might be true. I'm also pretty sure that the people working at customer support are required to answer e-mails by certain pre-made templates, rather that just make "tailor-made" answers to each customer. If someone e-mails nintendo and gets the same answer, I guess the validity of the statement is kind of verified.
