Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans to Fight Back

AlbertoC

Well, i'm glad (and its about time) the blockbuster titles got 2011 release dates. I recently purchased a red 3DS (by the color alone, no ambassador games) and i have nothing to do with it aside from the cameras and street-pass. (Even with the VC games, i've played them all and i have some of them still working on their original consoles...)

I also agree that the late november update will offer a lot of new stuff and will not be a waste like 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 on the DSi, or the last update to the wii, that did absolutely NOTHING NEW.

Re: Final Wii U Form to Be Shown At E3 2012

AlbertoC

I hope things change at the 2012 E3. I don't see any reason to buy a Wii U. It's like the 3DS but worse, having no launch titles and completely no stumping plans for the new hardware (1. I can now play on the console and the TV? Why not make it portable in the first place? 2. Just one big, bulky tablet controller per console? So, how it's going to be used? If it's only to have a botton DS screen on a console, big heap bummer 3. How can i really play with a tablet like that on a game like Zelda or Mario Kart? Impossible? A backwars step form the Wii?)

I hope Nintendo amaze media and us players with new, interesting concepts. As everything looks now, the Wii U is a step backwars from the wii on HD graphics. It's a console i really wanted to like but failed gracefully.

You have another chance then, Nintendo.

Re: Iwata Reveals Big New Improvements for eShop

AlbertoC

I really don't understand why now some people are comparing the PC with the 3DS. Impossible. The former is a computer, with full-fledged software, full loading times, and full-size software. The later is a PC (portable console, ha.) It can't do the same things as the desktop computers, or even consoles like the wii, in terms of resource-consuming processes and downloads (wireless, internet, battery). That's why Nintendo implemented SpotPass and StreetPass the way they are now.

Now, i completely agree the eShop needs a remake and better content. DLC might be a good idea as long as the content is worth it. Wii software also had download to play, but it never was mind-blowing. Remember the ideas for wii connect 24?

Also, the developers can decide over their software, or that's like it should be (Ask Kyle Gabler if Nintendo really haves that many policies that make the company developer friendly. It even drew the attention of the intenets, like this very site, but that's another issue), so they should decide if it's a timer-limited demo, or a play count limited demo. Blaming everything on Nintendo on this matter is unfair IMHO.

Re: Skyward Sword Nearly Had Button Combat Controls

AlbertoC

I think some people are missing the point, reading some of the comments.

Twilight princess had motion controls AND button combat controls. Those actions you performed with the a button to roll and then give a slash, or to finish an enemy. Is is a completely DIFFERENT point to going backwards to a conventional-style controller, like Wind Waker or ocarina of time, where you had to actually press a button to slash your sword. Or are you going to tell me that in a brand-new game they weren't planning on reusing the "move-to-slash" mechanic, unique to Wii console, introduced back in 2006?

Aside, i kinda liked those moves. It felt like (lazily doing) you were bashing right-on enemies. So if they aren't going to appear on Skyward Sword, some replacement stylish-looking, secret sword techniques will follow, right?

Re: Limited Edition Zelda eShop Cards Confirmed for Europe

AlbertoC

@29: I understand. Mexico doesn't have them too. And knowing how pathetic everything is here, probably we never will get them. Perhaps i need to import a eShop prepaid card from the USA. (Not everyone is entitled to have a credit card, and i loved the nintendo points cards. Thanks nintendo for your regions, AGAIN.)

Re: More European Christmas Wii Bundles Announced

AlbertoC

They are assuming that people that haven't bought a wii already know absolutely nothing about videogames. But they are also assuming that family also means knowing nothing about videogames. Me and my two siblings play Smash Bros Brawl without problems, and we can last two, three hours a gaming session.

Re: Round Table: Remembering the Nintendo 64

AlbertoC

Banjo Kazooie is the greatest platformer on all time. It has the simplicity and humor of a cartoon, yet complex and engaging enough to want to explore every area for everything this game has to offer. The game mechanics were great, and all the worlds were so colorful and lively. But i can't longer play it confortably on my N64 because of the control sticks on the controllers being all weared down.

I agree with you Corbie.

Re: Here's How Super Mario 3D Land's Gyroscope Controls Work

AlbertoC

I still don't like the fact that we're being limited by time. 3D worlds (and this time around, 3D worlds looking in 3D) are meant for exploration IMHO.

Also, i hope that motion controllers are optional: On my sitting room i can flail with wiimotes all i want or it's needed, but i don't think so when on a bus.

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword Video is a Real Treasure

AlbertoC

I don't like those square boring-looking rocks. At first glance i thought the soaring pedestals from Majora's Mask were ported. But if we get some neat things from these (not five rupees or such) like a bottle, heart pieces, even a new area or a key item, that's another story.

Re: New 3DS System Update Warns You About Piracy

AlbertoC

@15: Sure. But also there is this thing called responsibility. The posibility is one thing, and having to deal with all the consequences is another thing.

@Motang: The last two (three?) updates did nothing. Until i read on the webs that they were only to block piracy.

Also the wii updates. So, block and all, but next time do something more than push the numbers up nintendo, OK?

Re: Fox Flies Into a New Trailer for Star Fox 64 3D

AlbertoC

@1, @41: I also recall something about seeing your friend's face when you won or lost...
EDIT: It seems this is only for local wireless. Big heap bummer.

@9, also @17:
The original had Katt on it. The original had multiplayer on it.

Also, it's not like everybody wants multiplayer in Mario's Picross. Mutiplayer, even better, online multiplayer, adds A LOT of replay value, and a social component, to a game.

Re: Tales of the Abyss Dated for Europe

AlbertoC

@8: From Wikipedia,
"Australasia is a region of Oceania: Australia, New Zealand, the island of New Guinea, and neighbouring islands in the Pacific Ocean (Island Melanesia, potentially including Wallacea)."

So, the game will work on 3DSs sold in the entire said region.
(P.S. at the end of the comment, there is a ";P".)

Re: Pachter to Operation Rainfall: "I Agree"

AlbertoC

@7: You're right. I don't want a WiiU to play Tablet Party Games, or wiimote-based-but-flashy-graphics Mario Party U, or Tablet Wiintendogs, or whatever. (I hope they begin to do things right, just look at Pokemon Battle Revolution. It looks good but that's it.)

With this new console, as with these releases, i'm in a wait-and-see state.

Re: Operation Rainfall Responds to Nintendo's "Never Say Never"

AlbertoC

I really want to play Pandora's Tower without having to resort to a language patch (like the one Fatal Frame 4 haves). Not that the community efforts are bad or something (those guys are always amazing at pulling projects like that one), is that Nintendo is getting used at being really lazy, and then blocking what it doesn't like.

It's about time Nintendo begins to hear its customers with something more than "Tnx ur great fanbois i luv ya all" statements.

I'm getting really tired of all of this Ninty. First, you don't release all games in all regions. Then you region block the N3DS (blocking import efforts with it), and "Never say never but there are no plans. So, sorry", what next? This could mean that Nintendo now only cares for the quantity of consoles they sell, and not the quality/variety of the games they offer if they're not called Mario or Zelda.
