Apart from an all-new title called Mina the Hollower, the latest Yacht Club Games Presents broadcast revealed a free update and three downloadable content packs coming to Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon.
Here's the full rundown via the official announcement:
Free Update
This FREE update will add new accessibility options, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements:
- You can now control how fast the board fills up when you fall in battle.
- Multiplayer tips when the match ends
- New portraits
- Tally screen now shows what the CPU's level is
It will also include a new playable character- Random Knight! This mysterious combatant will appear in camp after you’ve already recruited a few knights. When you start a new adventure with Random Knight, he will randomly become one of your unlocked characters!
Upcoming DLC Packs
Next, we’d like to pull back the development curtain on our expansive slate of downloadable content that will be available in 3 DLC packs!
- Online V.S. Mode. That’s right, soon you’ll be able to go head-to-head with your friends and other puzzlers around the world.
- Mod Support features for the PC version of the game
- New playable characters, enemies and bosses, relics and items, hidden secrets, and much much more!
Both this free update and the three DLC packs are "coming soon" to Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon. Will you be trying this new content out? Leave a comment down below.

I really wish i could be enthusiastic about this, but i really hated the game.
Bought it asap, played it for a day and never touched it again. It combined the worst of both roguelikes and puzzle games in a package that was incredibly unappealing to play.
If your basic options menu looks like something other games would consider "debug tools" you might go over your design choices again.
But yeah, more power to those who liked it. For me, it was one of the biggest disappointments of last year.
It felt like it ended too quickly, I mean, I didn't even beat the game yet...but it just felt too light on content or something. -.-
The DLC just seems like...I don't know, we'll see...but I've moved on.
So 2 out of 3 paid dlc packs are mod support and online play? What a waste of money.
This is the most anxiety inducing puzzle game I've played yet. Packed with charm but I can only play in bursts.
Sure, I could mess with accessibility options and nobody would know, but then...I would know 😒
I love Shovel Knight but hate what I see with this one. Definate pass.
Not going to entertain it until it becomes a finished game and then gets a physical release.
I love seeing a new experimental direction to Shovel Knight, but this is a very stressful time to me. I just suck at puzzles, but it should also be considered that the market for this kinda game is small. Looks high quality, I just wish I could get another adventure that I could love as much as my 400+ hour 200% conpleted treasure trove file... maybe dig will be cool
I really need to unlock more characters. I've already got Shovel Knight, Shield Knight, Plague Knight, King Knight, and Treasure Knight.
The DLCs seem to be more like things other developers put in their game for free, not really charge for it.
Shame that one of the 3 DLCs is only for PC (mod support), and even then most indies on Steam offer mod support for free (Binding of Isaac Repentence being one of the better examples).
Personally, I hope that DLC is just some name for bigger updates (like how Dead Cells does) against being actual paid content. I thought the base game was fun but not that justifying the €20 price tag.
Online multiplayer was all I really wanted. Everything else is just icing on the cake. This is good news for me.
@Ellie-Moo : I completely agree.
Doesn’t seem to say whether the DLC will be paid or not, certainly seems like free update kind of stuff (except the bosses and characters). Online play should be a free download… 🤔
I would have preferred it if they had given more upgrades as a reward for grinding.
Not too interested in the Random Knight character but some of the updates are nice
hugely disappointed by this game. I just didn't enjoy it sadly.
Yoooo I'm here for all of it! I love Pocket Dungeon 💓
But in all honesty, online play should've been available at launch. Hopefully it's decently priced. Having to pay for online versus is pretty wack, but we'll see
@Einherjar 🙏🏼 Amen!
@DarkTron Dead Cells makes you pay for at least several of their DLCs.
I passed on this, trailer made it look like a glorified mobile game, tbh.
And seeing this article after the Mina Kickstarter just makes me want to really question what Yacht Club is thinking. Online play and PC-only mod support as paid content is ridiculous. Mina looks fun af, but this is Yacht Club we're talking here, it's not like they're hurting for money.
All dlc should be free, just sayin.
