UK physical chart data is now in for the week ending 18th December, showcasing an Indie hit with a strong physical debut and a whole lot of the usual suspects.
Among Us is the big story of the week, with its Crewmate Edition making its debut in 5th place. Typically £3.89 on the eShop with relatively frequent (albeit modest) discounts, this physical version costs £27.99 but does have some rather nice physical and digital goodies included. It was released on multiple platforms, with Switch being the best performer with 39% of sales; for developer Innersloth and distributer Maximum Games it's an impressive achievement to break into the top 10.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition also arrived at number 6, but it's worth noting that this doesn't include the Switch version (which is coming later).
Beyond that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still the top performer on Switch, which is why we'll never get Mario Kart 9 (oh ok, not for a while anyway).
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond is still hanging on in the top 10, where we can also find the ever-present Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Minecraft. Just Dance 2022 is still doing its thing too, with the Switch version being the overwhelming favourite (89% of sales).
Here's a look at this week's top ten all formats chart:

Wow people kept their GTA pre-orders? Cancelled mine straight after release of the digital version
I poured so many hours in among us its not even funny.
For all the backlash GTA:DE has received on how much of a buggy mess it is, how is it in the top 10? Rockstar will just see this as a good thing.
Mario party Superstars deserves to be back in the top 10!!its brilliant
Saints Row 4
Super Bomberman R
Torchlight 3
These 3 games are the best deal this week, only selling for a few dollars.
@Bunkerneath I played San Andreas on the series s and it isn't half as bad as the internet crowd made it out to be. Sure there's some bugs, frame rate drops are very rare... it is a bit janky but that's a very old game. Could they have done a better a job? Absolutely
What about hardware sales ? We get weekly japanese hardware sales but nothing for the UK.
Dear Thomas, if you mark FIFA as a Switch game with a link, than you should also treat GTA the same way. Both are Switch games, both are poor.
@GoldstoneVillas Unfortunately they rarely, if ever, get published for markets other than Japan.
@Max_the_German As these are physicals, and GTA hasn't released physically yet on the Switch, no asterisk needed... yet.
@Jeff2sayshi Thank you for the explanation, didn‘t know that. And I didn‘t know that Among Us had a physical release, weird!
