Third party accessory maker Snakebyte will be at E3 this year with a range of carry cases, a car seat mount and various charging cables for the Nintendo Switch. However it's the 'Nintendo Switch Power: Pack' which really caught our eye. Here's the blurb from Snakebye:
Adding an estimated four hours of play time to the Nintendo Switch charge, the Power: Pack features a powerful 7000 mAh Lithium Ion battery and attaches securely to the rear of the Switch console.
Integrated kickstand holds the console firmly in place for when playing in table-top mode and charge indicator lets you know how much juice is available for those essential Mario Kart™ sessions!
While the SwitchCharge case looks a bit slicker, this could be a nice alternative to keep your Switch battery topped up during long sessions away from a mains supply. No prices have been announced yet, but the Power: Pack is expected to begin shipping from Summer this year. Will you be picking one up?

Certainly not right away but for the right price, maybe someday down the road.
I wouldn't add that bulk to my switch. So far I don't use my Switch for more then 2 hours outside the house anyways and I don't see that changing. I'm also going to guess 60$ for that thing.
Yeah i would want one
Still haven't gotten an external battery for my Switch. Tempting, if the price is right.
Bit big for the capacity.
7000 mah is not that great and that is a terrible amount of bulk! I don't think this is necessary either, my battery ahs never run out on me yet and I could always use a car charger or power point anywhere I go.
On long flights I still use a game boy advance. So many games still to finish!
@AlexOlney thats mainly because the case uses a small area of the device , if it used the entire area of the unit ( the tablet not including the joycons) it would have been alot less bulky
I have a power cord and portable battery that will do the same.
I like the idea of it snapping on like the SwitchCharge, but at the moment I'm more interested in something I can use with all my devices, at the cost of portability. That said, I haven't had any problems with running out of power on my Switch so far, so I won't be getting that or any other battery unless it becomes an issue.
AAAAAAND where are the vents?
I already picked a big power bank so probably won't be picking this up, but it is nice to see reminds me of adding big ole power thing onto my GB back in the day lol.
I'd like a charging solution which used the switch dock to charge and not a different charger.
Already splashed out for the switchcharge and it looks better anyway.
For something that adds over double the bulk, no thanks. That's what portable batteries are for anyway.
isnt best looking solution
@JunTheMoon Yeah I'm not sure covering the vents like that is a good idea. I don't think the fans usually come on when undocked but I would imagine the vents are still helping to dissipate heat passively.
Depends on price..
ATM I'm leaning towards the Bionik power duo, 2x batteries -that can fully recharge the switch- with charging dock and joy-con slots for $79
It's bulky, it's low on capacity, and it doesn't appear to have slots for the air vents... NOPE.
I think the days of low capacity battery packs that bulk up your console & cost an arm are done for... people are more than happy with a powerbank & cable. Let's hope accessory makers wise up and offer more realistic solutions.
