It's Thanksgiving today if you're in the US, so what better time for Nintendo of America to launch a Thanksgiving National StreetPass Weekend which runs from Nov. 26th to Nov. 29th?
After you fill up on turkey you can stop by any of the 29,000 Nintendo Zone hotspots scattered around North America to get up to six StreetPass tags from across the globe.
If you're playing the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer game you should also be able to get hold of Felyne, a special character inspired by the Monster Hunter series.
Happy Thanksgiving from the Nintendo Life team!

You forgot to mention the Hoopa distribution starts today as well for Pokemon in North America.
@NFERNO It actually starts tomorrow.
@NFERNO
Actually Hoopa starts tomorrow the 27th.
And you only have to hit those 29 000 Nintendo Zones 35 times each to reach the max no. of hits at 999 999! StreetPass is great for ingame data exchange, but otherwise... Mii Plaza is one huge Nintendo troll. Good job it matters not one jot
dammit, maths is wrong! Hit each zone 6 times each.
@Priceless_Spork StreetPass needs to be enabled for whichever game you want data exchange for. Then, you can just leave the 3DS in sleep mode and it will automatically rack up the hits. Each relay gives six hits, so it's better to clear all visitors through the plaza as soon as the green light flashes, else you'll only get 3 more hits with the next relay to give a total of 9 (the maximum no of hits is 10 before the sytem stops counting them, seems to operate in either 6s or 3s). My experience has been that hitting 3 relays in a row still only gives a total of 9 hits. Just clear the plaza after every green light.
Each game seems to run differently too. Sometimes, although there are 6 people going through the plaza, another installed game can only register the details of one of the characters. So, although you have 6 people per green flashing light, you only get data for one of those in certain games even if Mii Plaza shows 4 of them were playing the same game.
Sometimes relays do not work and in the UK at least, the places having relays and those having Nintendo Zones are different. MacDonalds gives us hits via a relay, but only GAME has a proper Nintendo Zone that gives hits and allows connection to Nintendo servers for in-game promotions such as the Felyne in Happy Home Designer. The Nintendo Zone app is only useful very occassionally when there's a free home theme on offer. Otherwise, it's pretty pointless as it does nothing.
