Frustrated that all the awesome content for your 3DS is trapped within its physical body, unable to exit to reside within another, perhaps differently coloured console? Angry that no matter how many times you tap the 3DS Transfer Tool in the system menu it won't let you move content between consoles? You'll be able to wipe up those tears next month.
As well as all the previously announced enhancements — 3D video recording and new StreetPass games — the November system update will also finally give you the ability to transfer content between two 3DS consoles.
There. Happy?

Oh happy day! n___n
Awesome, it's nice to finally have that option.
Silly nintendo, taking forever to implement something the PSP and PS3 have had since launch, and making it more limited?
Very happy, not that I need to transfer data to another 3DS yet.
Now stealing your kid brother's downloadable games will be twice as easy! Jerks.
At least they put the option didn't they Zez. Now add it to the Wii and I can rest easy with all those VC games.
3DS on 3DS action o.o
Cool, considering they're coming out with some pretty dang cool colors.
I was wondering do you guys no if we can transfer the ambassador games to a new 3ds and then download them from the eshop again in our orginal 3ds?
Finally!
Yay, just in case I can get a hip new white 3DS. But if my friend gets a 3DS and I give him stuff so he doesn't have to pay for it, it'd be nice if it kept it on both systems. Maybe I could just copy it...
That'll be handy when the inevitable redesign comes out.
good. i'm considering getting the red 3DS, and transfering to that isntead. see, i sent my 3DS in because the bottom screen's frame had put vertical scratches on my top screen on the left and right sides. when i got it back from nintendo, i finaly put screen covers on BOTH screens instead of just the bottom (never needed to before). problem is, now my power button doesn't work right! thanks @$^%tendo!
As others said, when the redesign comes out, this'll be very nice.
@9 I doubt it, I think it would register you original 3DS as Nonbassador
and your new one as ambassador
@the_dude
Before they were saying that the GBA ones wouldn't be transferrable but they later changed this and said they will transfer after all.
i wonder if you could transfer individual games. that way you could swap games with friends.
@ my_point_is
now THAT sounds like a good idea. problem is though, if the store still lets you redownload the game, then it'd be like getting games for free.
Looks like next month I'll be transferring my sisters copy of Bird & Beans back to her.
yea
Um.....it's already out in North America....
@lalalalalalalal: if you're talking about the transfer tool, you're correct — it'll let you transfer things from a DSi to a 3DS just fine, but if you try to transfer things from one 3DS system to another, it won't work. it says the functionality will be included in a later system update, which is apparently this one coming up in November. :3
Yes! Now I can make my brother feel better about missing the ambassador program. Aren't I nice?
best 3ds news month next to ambassador announcement
Knowing Nintendo, I was expecting this to be available in the middle of next year.
A pleasant surprise.
Good to know, but I doubt I will ever need this feature.
I hope it lets me transfer to whatever the next gen handheld will be though.
Yay now I can get a red 3DS and transfer my Ambassador games over with it
Great Nintendo! Just do this w/ the Wii(but so we have options to transfer from either Wii to another, or to the WiiU), & you will almost guarantee my purchase of a WiiU. This is the right track to be on for the issue of transferability.
It will be great for when the 3DS Lite (or XL, or Dual Analog) model comes out.
@29.: Oh !
Im hoping that they bring out a bigger screened version of the 3DS because 3.5 inch on any portable device is just to small nowadays, and then i wont lose any of my downloaded games because i'll be able to Transfer.
Nintendo did something smart! Now I can actually sell my 3DS when the 3DS lite comes out.
But can you transfer game save data? Miis? Photos? Streetpass settings? Ambassador games? e3 Trailers? Pedometer records?
