It's time to take a look at the most popular DSiWare titles available on the DSi Shop. If you're feeling adventurous you can even take a look for yourself by simply logging on to the DSi Shop, heading into the DSiWare section and then viewing by "Popular Games". It's that easy!
We compile this list using the USA region DSi Shop, so if you live elsewhere your list will probably be quite a bit different. Please feel free to post your region's findings below as always.
Keep in mind that the list below is based on the total number of downloads made recently, not an overall total of downloads since the game's original release.
Here is the list for the 27th of August:
1 (1) - Flipnote Studio
2 (2) - Nintendo DSi Browser
3 (8) - Guitar Rock Tour
4 (3) - Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again
5 (4) - Paper Airplane Chase
6 (5) - Asphalt 4: Elite Racing
7 (6) - Bird & Beans
8 (7) - WarioWare: Snapped!
9 (9) - Dr. Mario Express
10 (10) - Master of Illusion Express: Deep Psyche
11 (13) - Mario Clock
12 (14) - Mario Calculator
13 (11) - Sudoku Student
14 (15) - Photo Clock
15 (12) - Art Style: precipice
16 (N) - Pop+ Solo
17 (16) - Art Style: BOXLIFE
18 (17) - Brain Age: Arts & Letters
19 (-) - Brain Age Express: Sudoku
20 (18) - American Popstar: Road to Celebrity
* (N) - Denotes a brand new entry in the Top 20
* (-) - Denotes a game that was not on the Top 20 last week
While it doesn't happen often, once again this week we saw a DSiWare title make its debut on the Top 20 during the same week of its release. Nnooo's Pop+ Solo jumped up onto the chart this week at #16 and hopefully the game can make its way up the chart between now and next week. Once again, fish sell games on these services. See the pattern?
Flipnote Studio and the Nintendo DSi Browser are both holding strong in the top two spots this week, no real surprise there, but we did see Guitar Rock Tour jump up into the #3 spot and knock Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again down a spot.
The big climber this week was the aforementioned Guitar Rock Tour, which jumped from #8 last week to the #3 spot this week. The big dropper this week was Art Style: precipice, which fell from #12 last week to #15 this week. Once again, the Art Style titles tend to come on strong and begin to fade fast for some strange reason.
With the addition of Pop+ Solo and Brain Age Express: Sudoku on the Top 20 this week, Brain Challenge and Master of Illusion Express: Funny Face both dropped off the chart this week. We guess with school starting back, gamers figure they'll get enough learning at school without the need for any extra video game assistance.

And before you ask, the WiiWare Top 20 is coming a little later.
Beginning next week, the WiiWare Top 20 will be put up on Wednesdays at 6pm CST and the DSiWare Top 20 will be put up on Thursdays at 6pm CST every week at the same time.
Huh - Pop at number 16? You'd think more people would've heard about it and given it a try by now. Still, I don't blame them - how were they to know about it?
Okay you've rode that horse into the ground. We get it.
Guitar Rock Tour better get back in line beneath MvsDK, it has no right to ascend so high.
Go Mario clock! You can do it!
Brain Age: Sudoku will likely make it pretty far up there before long.
I am rooting for Pop Plus to be successful
BIRD AND BEANS 4 EVA
Just one more Master of Illusion title to knock off!
It appears fish sells, should Nintendo make a fish clock app for DSiWare?
But seriously, I'm glad to hear Pop Plus Solo is popular, I need to buy it soon.
Huh - Pop at number 16? You'd think more people would've heard about it and given it a try by now.
Or maybe they just thought the concept is stupid and not worth their money.
@Corbie: When I saw the complete same layout but with a different article altogether, I felt I had an excuse to do it again, and I simply couldn't resist XD
Come on little pop!!! you can do this!!!
pop plus solo is awesome
@ChickenBrutus Yes Go Birds and Beans! First game i got and i love it!
Pop + Solo should be WAY higher.
Erm when I log into the US shop the list is currently has Pop+ Solo at #4... Not sure how there can be such a difference?
I'm logged in to the US DSiWare shop as I type this and Pop+ Solo is #16. Anyone verify this?

Which seems to be very different to Corbies list. Can it really change that much?
No you look at "Popular Titles"
Here is the procedure:
1. Click on the "DSiWare" logo that's above the "Add Nintendo Points" and "Shopping Guide"
2. Then select "Find titles"
3. Now select "Popular Titles"
I wonder if "Recommended Titles" is actually that rather than being a top 20? Corbie and I are both on the US store and get different results...
Ah ok. So what is the recommeded titles one for? What list do you get in there Corbie?
Recommended Titles is not the Top 20 or the top sales. It's just usually newer titles that Nintendo puts on the front. Follow the procedure I listed above to see the Top 20 in terms of sales.
Damn. My Bad What is it tho? 'Cos on my list Pop+ Solo is 4th is it the same on yours?
Ok my apologies Corbie and my bad. Newb DSi shopper here
It's okay. I just wanted you to know where to look. I've been doing this a lot, so I can do it without even thinking anymore. And getting on the DSiWare Top 20 in your original week is impressive. It will go up.
Hey NL,
Besides the Flipnote competition, have you put up forums for sharing members' flipnotes? Seeing all the good stuff people made makes one crave to continue the share-a-thon. For the time being, I figure a post about it being #1 is close enough...

@KnucklesSonic8
lol yeah.... I bought one to try it out, was dumb...
@27. Chibi Link: Another thing to bear in mind is that the PAL release came out several days before the NA release. By that logic, Pop would naturally have had more time to climb the charts in PAL regions than in NA region.
@Nnooo: Kudos on making an greater sequel to your previous Wiiware adventure. I love the fact that you included "chill" mode, seeing as my mom and my fiance (essentially non-gamers) can still have fun and get enjoyment out of it. Multiplayer on the Wii was also great. On my DSi, I tried "Advanced Mode" and got 9,900,000 or so points on wave 16 and 50 minutes logged before the timer expired - Almost made it, LOL
Also, I don't understand the logic behind the "recommended titles" listing. One pattern I've noticed that has held true for Wiiware, is that the 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th items on the Wiiware "recommended titles" list are usually the four titles listed on the Wii Shop Channel. Since it's release, World of Goo has remained the number one Wiiware spot on the recommended list (and is also number one on Nintendo Life if you sort Wiiware by rating, as it is the only ten star reviewed Wiiware game), yet aside from launch, I have never seen it on the Shop Channel's homepage. Also, the Wiiware "recomended titles" list is a Smörgåsbord of titles consisting of VC, Wiiware, and enhancement channels. DSi Shop also has four titles on the home screen, and while it is not generally divided into separate categories like the Wii Shop, it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo also has some nonsense half-donkey approach to deciding the arrangement of games on the DSi "recommended titles" list. In short, the popular list is based on sales, probably over a two week period, judging by the rise/fall times of new titles. I have no idea what the criteria regarding Nintendo's "recommended titles" listing is, but you generally won't find trash titles like "Sexy Poker" on it.
