I recently got a Wii U and proceeded to perform a system transfer from my Wii. At first I thought it had worked perfectly, but when I try to play any of my old Virtual Console or WiiWare games it says they can't be played on this Wii as if my Wii Shop account is still tied to my old Wii. What do I do to fix this?
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
Have you just copied the files over? Try deleting them and redownloading the games (games not the saves), I seem to remember that being necessary (I may be wrong as it's over 2 years ago since I did it).
Yeah if they weren't on your Wii system memory when you did the transfer then you will need to re-download them. You cannot run anything off the SD card that was in your old system - a bit annoying if you had a ton of games I know.
Thanks, that did the trick, although it's going to be annoying to do that for all of my games. At least there's a "Games You've Downloaded" section of the Wii Shop Channel to make it somewhat more convenient.
