Topic: 240 Upcoming Wii U indie games

Nintendoenthusiast.com lists "240 upcoming Wii U indie games" . There seems to be some errors in the list (some games on the list have already been released and some others such as "Cult County" will most likely not arrive) and the screen shots show very different stages of development, but I think it's a convenient list nevertheless:

Yay, tons of crappy "artsy" puzzle-platformers.

Lots of censorship here...

I wouldn't be quite so pessimistic. While I'm sure some of them will indeed be crappy, there will always be a some gems as well..

I can agree that most of them are platformers, but saying that's all there is, is pretty ridiculous.

Four out of the five games in my Wishlist (sig) are in that list, so there are definitely some fantastic games to be found there.

Even if half of them end up being mediocre or worse, this is still pretty exciting. Even if you go by the "90% of everything sucks" logic (which you shouldn't...at least the everything part), that's still 24 games you'll like.

The Unity support is one of the best things Nintendo has done in recent years.

Well, just based on the strategy, miscellaneous, and RPG sections of the article, I figured that's enough to say not everything is a platformer. If we really wanted to get specific, even racing games have platforming qualities.

On one hand I do think the amount of platformers is pretty ridiculous but...yeah. I mean...
1. Platformers are one of those genres that have a lot of notably different sub-genres for different people. The Abe's Odyssey remake and Cloudberry Kingdom are not exactly going for the same audience.
2. Not every game with platforming is a platformer. I mean, is Wonderful 101 a platformer because you have to jump sometimes? No, it's an action game.

Ya. RE4 had some puzzles, so now it qualifies as a puzzle game; especially, if now you're looking for puzzles in every room.

I'm more excited about a lot of those games than what I'm going to be "missing out" from the "AAA" publishers not supporting the Wii U.

I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Despite coming up short of the $60,000 goal, I still hope Ghost Song makes it to the Wii U.

So, it seems like nothing has been said about the Wii U version by the developer?

Dunno how I feel.
