Regardless of how calm your gaming demeanor, there's sure to be those odd moments in games that leaves you frothing at the mouth and loudly declaring your exhaustion of good will for a game in a manner that would make your mother ashamed. The moments that makes developers hundreds of miles away twitch involuntarily as you stumble at their design faux pas for the seventh time and decide that their death by long, cruel torture is the only fate that they deserve. No game is exempt from the rage-inducing moment, and some games seemed to be built around them (hello, Sonic 2006 ), so this thread is to share your favourite, most recent, or simply most memorable controller-flinging tantrums that have voided the warranty on more than a few consoles. I've got two to share; one from Bethesda's dragon-bashing epic Skyrim and the other from Sega's celebration of a career of mostly mediocrity, Sonic Generations . For Skyrim, it's the dragons. Not all the dragons, but the ones who sail around miles in the air, out of range of your arrows, and absolutely refuse to come down and accept swift death by large pointed jabby stick. Out in the wilds they're no big problem, but they have a habit of attracting the attention of all the nearby human NPCs, who will refuse to interact with you until the threat has passed. So imagine my annoyance when, in the middle of an exciting quest, the target NPC refused to acknowledge my existance for at least 15 minutes whilst a dragon circled harmlessly overhead doing little more than scare away rabbits, until eventually, mercifully, buggering off over the horizon (after I'd inneffectually shot almost all my arrows in its direction and missed). In Sonic Generations? This one Red Ring. To reach it, you need to hit two ramps with considerable precision (not helped by slidey boardy physics) to reach the ring miles in mid-air. Or more accurately, to sail past mere centimeters from it and have to restart the act. Fffffuuuuuu
