Back with another eBay splurge, where I purchased not one, not two, but four games to cross off the list. Two of them are for the PS4, so I will share those in the other gaming purchases thread, but below are: Death end re;Quest: brand new for roughly $45 Dragon Star Varnir: brand new for roughly $45

Playing Star Wars Outlaws is really getting my GFFA juices flowing, so I've just bought a digital deluxe copy of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Character Pack 2 to complete the set. I never clicked with the game when we first got it for the kids, but there has to be some good stuff in there, and now I'm going to find out for myself.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Blue Fire. It's got good bones, but my midnight release Switch just can't quite handle running the game, and the lack of a map made things painful. If it gets an update for performance, I might come back to it, but for now, I think I've dropped it for good
Today I went on Amazon and bought this one game I never heard of before I read up on the description of it and looked at pictures. It looks like fun. We will wait and see what it’s like once it gets delivered.
Once payday rolls out i might just bite the bullet and scoop up what's currently on sale on my NS1 Wishlist. MK Legacy Collection is half price, as is Toaplan Vol. 2.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection - (I hear the lag is pretty sluggish. But I still don't have a gaming pc yet. And as die hard MK fans know, that port has the exact same amount of latency present in the original arcade trilogy.)
Blood: Refreshed Supply - (Although, I'd still much rather play this on NS2 with 120fps & 9-Axis Gyro with that smooth 250hz support.)
Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection (NS1) - It's half off for 9 more days, as is Toaplan Arcade 1&2. Finally! But what exactly are the benefits of buying the NS2 version over NS1? I've heard it supports 4K and better performance, but why would i care about playing 90's pixel art retro games in 4K over 1080p? And why on earth would the NS2 version have better performance, again, for old early to mid 90's arcade games?...Am i missing something here? NS2 may have faster loading times for modern titles than NS1, but how would that make a difference for old far less demanding retro games such as these?
Anyways, it's been ages since I've actually played the Arcade versions of the original Arcade trilogy. I've never replayed them via emulation be it MiSter, FightCade, and I never got them on XBOXLive for XBOX360 either. Come to think of it, i haven't played I, II & Ultimate MKIII since the mid 90's. Just over 30 years ago.
I did rent the arcade port for Mortal Kombat 3 on PS1 in 95', but that was pretty much it, and then i moved on to MK4 after that.

Lovish - (Looks like a long lost forgotten NES games that never came to be.)
@FishyS
I remember catching a video of John Riggs a while back where he was raving about Lovely. he said it was his favourite game of the year. Looks right up my alley, i just hope it offers a meaty challenge. I detest easy video games. lol
And speaking of modern retro. Have you tried out Bomb Chicken, Dounut Dodo or Freddy Farmer by any chance? All three are phenomenal. Freddy Farmer, which doesn't get enough recognition, I'd say is one of the greatest Arcade Retro indies on NS1 full stop. Bomb Chicken is a near masterpiece and Donut Dodo mops the floor with the original Arcade Donkey Kong trilogy. I honestly don't care for DK or DK Jr anymore. DKIII still holds up quite well though.
@WaveWitch Lovish is pretty easy; It's no precision platformer. But fun have-to-think-a-little-bit easy, not mindless easy. The game contains some parody of retro, but its not actually retro feeling.
Freddy Farmer looks kinda fun; I might check that one out.
@FishyS
Freddy Farmer isn't for the faint of heart. As long as you've got mad skills to pay the retro bills, than I whoteheartedly recommend it. It's fabulous! It's soundtrack is superb(I've lost count of how many times I've hummed out some of it's tunes.), the pixel art feels alive and vibrant, it's so ridicuously addicting once you get to the second world(Ala' Mines)And dare I say, 1UP's the all mighty Donkey Kong 94 for the original monochrome pea soup GameBoy.
@11:03 - That music.
Haven't gotten around to Lovish just yet, but i fired up the NS1 version of the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection for about 20 minutes last night with Ultimate MKIII(Arcade) and I was pleasently surprised. Why? Because so many people, including myself but without any hands on experience with this collection prior to now, have been harping over the amount of excess emulation lag present with all of the console versions(PC version has the same low latency as the Arcade versions, oddly enough, while the PS5 vesion fairs the worst.) and ya, i don't have a reference(Aka, the PC Version on standbye.) but the latency isn't anywhere near as horrendous as I thought it would be. The games are still playable...Unlike that awful Genesis Classics collection. Unless you enjoy hopping around in metal pants with 2 bowling balls strapped to your ankles. lol
Oh, and Legacy's CRT Filters be it both regular CRT & Curved CRT settings are very very nice, and i like the red & black arcade cabinet Boarder, even if Digital Eclipse completely skimped out on variety, giving you just two background boarders to choose from.
As for the NS2 version, I know that it runs in 4K vs NS1's 1080p, and apparently Retro 90's sprite based games scale better or properly into 4K rather than 1080. I'd have to see it for myself, but i doubt I'd care all that much because applying any kind of CRT filter assumingly would mask any slight upscaling improvement.
Edit: After spending more time with MK Legacy Kollection, I've come to the conclusion....That Ya, the lag is pretty bad. The complaints are 100% valid. The PC version is the only port that matters.
