It's a hybrid between a visual novel and a strategy game. You've got thirteen characters, whose stories start out separate but gradually come together at the end, and then you've got sections where you deploy a team of giant mechs to defend a city from a kaiju attack.

I'd highly recommend it, as having one of the best stories in video games that I've ever played, but with the caveat that you'd have to like both genres to get the most out of it.

@WaveBoy I passed on Pepper Grinder as it looked very similar to the drill tunneling sections of the second Ori game - loved the first one, but those tunneling sections were so frustrating that I ended up dropping the game. Not sure I could cope with a game that's more of that.

@WaveBoy Did you ever play any of Nitrome (Bomb Chicken developer)'s Flash games? I spent quite a lot of time on them back in the day. A lot of them are still playable online but they've also just started releasing enhanced versions of them with new content on Switch, starting with Twin Shot, which is a pretty simple action platformer where you just have to take out all the enemies on each single-screen level to move onto the next one. I wouldn't say it's on the same level as Bomb Chicken but it is fun if you like that kind of arcadey gameplay (it helps if you have some nostalgia for it though!)

Is Adam's Venture Origins & Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club: TOKIMEKI Roadmap to Future worth getting? I plan on getting both some time this week. If anyone knows anything about either one please let me know. 🤷‍♀️
