The Live A Live remake is slowly becoming one of my most hyped games this year the more I hear about it from other people who have played it. I love Chrono Trigger, and the time periods the characters come from in this game all seem really interesting.
There's a new trailer for the game where you can hear the VAs much better, since it was mostly muffled by the narrator of the Direct.
As I said before, I would've preferred Terranigma or Treasure Hunter G.
But I'll take whatever rpgs from Squaresoft's golden era that S-E are willing to provide.

Yes, i am hyped for this among other things this year. It looks absolutely gorgeous and the stories are definitely interesting. I wonder if they are connecting at all, really feeling the octopath traveller vibes in this but seemingly more fleshed out at first glance. I am just a bit surprised that we don't have any female main character at all.
I'd been wanting to finally buy one of these HD-2D games this year and this might've changed which one I get first.
Honestly I've been wanting to play the original for a very long time, but I never got around to it. Was gonna play it after I played through the Super Famicom version of Tales of Phantasia, but I never got far in that either...
I hear the director of Octopath had been wanting to remake this game for several years. Probably what inspired the blueprint of Octopath. And it’s success likely led to them green lighting this remake.

Yeah, I'll definitely be getting this 1 .... Hadn't heard much about it before but looked it up after the Direct Only reason I haven't pre-ordered it for my Lite yet is I should be moving soon
I haven't heard of this game until the direct either but I've seen a handful of people say this was the best RPG shown at that direct so I put it on my wishlist!
I am sincerely hoping that the font used in the trailer can be changed in-game. The Romancing Saga 2 remake suffers from the very same, which is, uh... kinda sad when we're trying to beautify a classic.
Oh my gosh. It's WAY more expansive than I was expecting. Started the Shinobi route with Feudal Japan, and wow. The further I go the more I explore and realize how massive these areas are! It gives that true feeling of exploring vast, labyrinthine networks and tunnels and trap doors in the palace. Some enemies are way too tough that you encounter. You'll have to flee. Or die and reload your save. So save often, after every enemy you kill. Auto save works but it may miss out on a few enemies you kill, so best to do it manually.
I'm genuinely impressed. This game is pure gold!

It’s a square enix game, they always use ugly fonts on their pixel art games.
Press any button during dialog and you'll see a prompt at the bottom of the screen showing what to press to auto advance dialog, or skip entirely.

@Tremblucay No. It was released in Japan with the English title "LIVE A LIVE" (with the second LIVE mirrored, i.e. "EVIL"). The Japanese rendition of the title, ライブ・ア・ライブ, i.e. "Raibu A Raibu", shows that the intended pronunciation of "LIVE" is with a long "i" (not short as in the verb "live") and a "v" ("life" would be "raifu"). I don't know what the title is supposed to mean, but it's not the localization team who screwed up.
I enjoyed the demo and I’ll strongly consider buying this if I can get it at a lower price. Also, maybe I haven’t played enough RPGs like this, but a couple battles wrecked me. Still fun though
Has anyone read the book Cloud Atlas (a 2004 novel)? I can't help but think Live A Live and Cloud Atlas have some really distinct similarities, like caveman era and future era chapters, I just don't know if Live A Live connects all of the stories in the same way. If anyone knowing this answer opens spoilers, then please don't spoil the game for anyone!
