Hey guys, I'm picking up breath of the wild tomorrow ( on switch) however won't have access to WiFi for a day as I'm working away. Does anyone know how the game runs without any patches at all? Is it playable? Want to get stuck in the day I grab it! But obviously if it's unplayable I'll have to wait .
I'll be trading in for it so don't know about it being already patched. I was more worrying I'd miss a day one patch that adressed any serious issues, from what I've seen though it was framerate issues when docked? Luckily I'd be playing in handheld mode until I update.

Thanks for all your replies
There's not really any serious issues with Zelda at all. There's some nasty framerate drops that can occur in docked mode but only in such rare scenarios - raining + lots of grass + many enemies on screen + explosions or spinning view quickly. It can happen a tiny bit in handheld but it's far less noticeable.
Anyway, unless you're getting a day 1 cart you probably will get a cart with the patches on it. Patch 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 that fixed the framerate drops came out in early April 2017, and the revision of the cart that includes both those patches came out a little after August 2017. Any shop that cycles its stock frequently probably has the updated one.
