Topic: Basic Light or Basic Dark?

Thought up this topic recently. Basically, I'm wondering whether the Light theme or the Dark theme is used more on y'alls Switch 1 / 2 systems.

Personally, I have my background set to Basic Dark. When I got my own personal Switch a few years back, the family's shared Switch already had the Basic Light theme, so I chose Basic Dark to differentiate between the two. After that, I kind of just kept it the same and never bothered changing it. What about all of you?

I went with Light because that's what doesn't hurt my eyes (i got issues when seeing dark mode stuff)

I use Dark mode on any console, app, etc. that I can. It's much easier on my eyes even if the brightness is turned up.

Light. I generally find images (like game thumbnails) to look pretty ugly on a dark backdrop.

At least 2'8".

Dark for me. But I'd like to have some more elaborate options, and the 'Basic' names really seem to suggest that more themes were supposed to be added, otherwise why are they not just called Light and Dark? But Nintendo still hasn't got round to doing that after 8.5 years...

Considering my Switch 1 playtime is docked, it's Basic Dark for me. Doesn't hurt my eyes.

When I get one, Switch 2 will also be Basic Dark.

@Dogorilla, I agree, some more themes would be awesome (I've actually ranted about that subject on a different thread before if I recall correctly lol) 😃.

If the dark theme was actually black then I might use it but I never liked how the game icons look against the dark grey so I've always just stuck with the light theme.

Bright white screens hurt my eyes, especially at night, when I usually game. So, I prefer switch's dark theme.

Basic light for me. I am also tapping on this forum in light mode. Hard to see things in dark mode.

Dark mode for me. I always thought it looked cool. Been used to it for a long time and I think it fits the Switch and Switch 2 well.

My Switch has had the Light theme since I first got it, so I'm using Dark for the Switch 2 in order to differentiate it more.

I have my switch and switch 2 set to dark. But for some reason, I have my NL account on light mode.
