MK8 gave us an amazing library of retro courses. As the last few DLC waves were coming out, many were clamoring for their favorite tracks. Some great tracks didn’t get included, but most of the most desired tracks made it to MKW (Airship Fortress, Dino Dino Jungle, Toad Factory, etc). 13 retro tracks in all (10 that weren’t in MK8). Here’s the list…
I figured we must have most, but when I checked…not even close. Here’s a list of missing tracks that I could find (I’ve combined all of the SNES tracks with the same name since we don’t need 4 Vanilla Lakes)
1. SNES Ghost Valley
2. SNES Choco Island 1
3. SNES Koopa Beach 2
4. SNES Vanilla Lake 1
5. N64 Luigi Raceway
6. N64 Moo Moo Farm
7. N64 Frappe Snowland
8. N64 Mario Raceway
9. N64 Sherbet Land
10. N64 Bowser's Castle
11. N64 DK's Jungle Parkway
12. N64 Banshee Boardwalk
13. GBA Peach Circuit
14. GBA Shy Guy Beach
15. GBA Bowser's Castle
16. GBA Luigi Circuit
17. GBA Cheep Cheep Island
18. GBA Yoshi Desert
19. GBA Lakeside Park
20. GBA Broken Pier
21. GBA Rainbow Road
22. GCN Luigi Circuit
23. GCN Mushroom Bridge
24. GCN Mario Circuit
25. GCN Mushroom City
26. GCN Wario's Colosseum
27. GCN Bowser's Castle
28. GCN Rainbow Road
29. DS Figure Eight Circuit
30. DS Yoshi Falls
31. DS Luigi's Mansion
32. DS Delfino Square
33. DS Bowser's Castle
34. DS Rainbow Road
35. Wii Luigi Circuit
36. Wii Mario Circuit
37. Wii Dry Dry Ruins
38. Wii Bowser's Castle
39. 3DS Daisy Hills
40. 3DS Cheep Cheep Lagoon
41. 3DS Wuhu Loop
42. 3DS Mario Circuit
43. 3DS Maka Wuhu
44. 3DS Bowser's Castle
45. Tour Piranha Plant Pipeline
Of those, we are still missing 3 Rainbow Roads and 6 Bowser’s Castle! I definitely would like a couple of each in future DLC, but I’ll set that aside for now. That leaves 36 missing tracks. Many of these I barely even remembers (I should go back to these games and check them out since there are probably a couple of bangers I don’t even remember). But looking thru the list, these are the tracks I would love to see added someday (along with more Rainbow Roads and Bowsers Castle). None are glaring enough omissions that I am actually missing them from the current game, but the OCD completionist in me hopes to see them eventually…
Didn't realise there were this many missing. Personally I like having a reason to go back to the old games so it doesn't bother me but I appreciate not everyone can do that. It wouldn't make much sense to have the Wuhu tracks in World unless they actually add in the entire Wuhu Island but I do like those ones.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
42. Luigi Circuit
43. Mario Circuit
44. Dry Dry Ruins
45. Bowser's Castle
Mario Kart 7 (6 tracks are missing)
46. Daisy Hills
47. Cheep Cheep Lagoon (we have small chance to see it again on MKW due water mechanic changes)
48. Wuhu Loop
49. Mario Circuit
50. Maka Wuhu
51. Bowser's Castle
Mario Kart Tour (1 track is missing)
52. Piranha Plant Pipeline
If we count Nintendo Classic Games (excluding MK DD, DS, Wii, 7 and Tour), we have only 24 tracks missing on Switch.
Very, very minor spoiler but technically some of these tracks exist as P-Switch challenges or exist as parts of larger track sections. I think I've only encountered around 4 so far but I haven't done that much free roam yet
