A weekly drop of a few games would be ideal and a neat little boost to the week but I think that's wishful thinking.
I'm glad they're pulling music from their whole history and not just Switch titles. Heck, they're not even limiting themselves to NSO releases...who would have ever thought Tomodachi Collection would make the launch of something like this!
Is it just my phone or is the app a little buggy?
Music not playing after 3 seconds all the time. And the app crashing some times(Downloaded they work 100% fine and it's not crashing)
Releasing soundtracks would be a clever way to promote new games and their series.
Take Mario & Luigi. It would be cool if they released Mario & Luigi OSTs to celebrate Brothership’s launch. Shouldn’t Brothership’s own OST come soon after, especially since there’s spoiler settings?
@Budda in my experience using it yesterday, downloading was spotty, and basically doing anything else on your phone comes with a chance of making the music stop.
Already listened to couple of full OSTs and added certain songs to my favorites. I would like to have all my music in one place but this works well enough. It's certainly better than having to import from Japan if you want to listen to the music legally outside of the games themselves. They also have some features specific to game music that they couldn't have done on other services. Not that I personally need extended music or filtering for spoilers but I like the categories for each game and the art/screenshot that accompanies each song.
I have some soundtracks that I hope find their way to the service sooner rather than later. I know I said I don't need the extend feature but I could listen to TMS♯FE's battle theme for hours. Scarlet/Violet is far from my favorite Pokémon soundtracks but I guess it's a logical starting point. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is probably too much to ask.
I wonder if they'll ever add music that isn't straight from games. You know, something like The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Special Orchestra CD, The Sound of Kirby Café or Fire Emblem Premium Arrange. Or if they want a good April Fools' joke, they could add Fire Emblem Drama CDs as part of the service.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that one thing I don't like is that the app is currently tied to mobile devices. I'd like to be able to play music on my PC too.
Just had a look at the promo images on the Google Play Store, one of which notes how "New tracks are added frequently"
Obviously how Nintendo defines frequent and how we define frequent are two different things but I'm slightly more optimistic about the release schedule.
how do we have an official music app and NO RHYTHM HEAVEN CONTENT
it's right there
I'm just a guy who loves adventure. I'm Sonic Adventure 2!
YES THEY DID IT SONIC HEROES REMAKE LESGOOOOOOOOOOOO
nintendo please give us a new rhythm heaven or else i will become karate joe in real life and jump you
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is peak 2D platforming.
I am overwhelmed by how much great music is in the app, but I wish there were ways to find and share playlists with others. I've been having a difficult time organizing my playlists, and finding a good way to catagorise them. I was wondering if anyone would like to share how they have sorted their playlists.
Warning: Spicy opinions like "M&Ms are overrated." may leak from this unit!
According to this it seems they'll be adding new music once a week. That's a good in my book. Gets you anticipating what could show up next. Like an episode of TV.
"Now I have an obligation to tag along and clear the area if Luigi so much as glances at a stiletto."
@Uncle_Franklin We need a red banner around these songs with a gold ‘Uncle Franklin Selects’ on it
I can confirm these 3 songs are so good that I’m not sure they’re allowed to exist. Didn’t remember what A New Wind for Tomorrow was but as soon as it started I figured it out!
A NintendoLife user that could talk about Kirby, Pikmin, or Mario RPGs for hours without getting bored!
It's a great addition to the online service, I have already had a listen to a few favourites.
If you take October as a whole, 2x F Zero games, 3x N64 and the Music App, if we had this every month we would be getting great value. Hopefully November has a few bits added to keep things going..
