I checked and don't believe there is another thread. Has anybody wondered about Nintendo's new console's virtual console? I'm really hoping it will include GameCube games. When a new console comes out, it usually features backwards compatibility to the console before it with virtual console for the previous generations. (ex: Wii-Gamecube, DS-GBA, 3DS-DS)

I want to still play my original GCN games on the café

Personally it doesnt matter to me if the next Nintendo system can download GC games since I dont plan on getting rid of my Wii and not only that but I still have my Game Cube in storage.

Ditto. Plus, I even have most of the games I want for the Gamecube already, so it's not like I could use it to finish my collection.
I hope there's Gamecube support. I also wonder if they'll reduce the price of the games currently on Wii's VC. I mean, N64 games are 1000 points, so games from a newer console would probably cost more. I'm not sure if people would be willing to pay more than that (and this isn't the occasional World of Goo or Pokémon Rumble either; this would be a whole console's library of games).
They will probs drop the point system similar to the 3DS.

If it's possible to play Wii games with it, then so is physical Gamecube games. I see no need for virtual GC games, and doubt it's happening.
Not without the controller slots, unless they change that around.

I hope you can still play gamecube games on it without having to download them because some of the GC games I still plan on getting seem like games that would be unlikely to appear on the wii successor's vc.
Aside from all of the returning(hopefully) VC systems....
Dreamcast
Saturn
90s Arcade - ya that's right...Give us TMNT II, The Simpsons, X-Men ect ect, not the earlier stuff like Pac Man and Galaga and all of those other 8-bit titles...
Yes but also include Arcade From 2000's Like MvC, Mario Kart GP, F-Zero AX (and have AX Read your GCN version to unlock the stuff)

Not necessary In order for the Wii to play Gamecube games it "shuts off" the Wii portion of the system so to speak and it turns on a Gamecube portion of the system, hence why you cant access the Wii menu or use the Wiimotes or anything else Wii related untill you reset the Wii.
Now Nintendo could leave the Gamecube part out of their next system but include the Wii portion so therefor the only way you can play GC games would be a download.

Back then they probablt didn't have the technology to make a console play both the new and old games. And I hope they have GCN games for VC, some GCN games are so expensive like Ikaruga.

Hmm, if it goes like that, at least i get a lot of money for my old GC games.
