Topic: My dog can't run, but can she fly!

I don't have any online presence besides here, and I've only ever posted to comments, I'm pretty sure.

I've grown to really love this community and I feel a connection with a number of you. I'm happy that I landed here after turning my back on all online interactions for years. Nintendo people are, and always have been, my people.

it brings me such sadness to say that on Saturday evening, in her sick bed that we made on the floor of our living room, our dog Nova passed away peacefully in her sleep. She had health problems almost her whole life, and recently fell ill with pancreatitis, and it was just too much, and she let go. She was only 7.

Shooting stars burn bright but they don't last.

I was reading to my kid last night, a book I'd never read before, pretty bizarre book about an island girl who witnesses her father being killed. The tribe then leaves the island but she gets left behind with her brother. This pack of wild dogs then kill her brother. She then makes the head of the dog pack her pet, carries on living her life just her and the dog on this island, then the b@st@rd author only goes and puts in a chapter where the dog dies...

Such a bizarre book, but there I was trying to read the dog-dying chapter, in tears cos anything like that just pulls me back to when my dog had to fly 2 years ago.

Thanks for sharing. It reminds me of the Modest Mouse song, "Wild Packs of Family Dogs," which i sang for her at the top of my lungs, in solitude, when she passed.

I'm also sorry to hear about your dog. 2 years goes by so fast and you will always miss them.

I too hate it when "they kill the dog." I can watch droves of people moved down in various creative ways, but one off screen whimper from a dog and im bawlin.

And yeh, it's nice to read that you feel comfortable enough to open up to us when it must still be so raw.
