Topic: Mac help!

Now, i know this is VERY unrelated to Nintendolife, but my MacBook Air 11.6" is running out of space rapidly.
This morning, I had 12GB of space on my computer.
This is what I have now.

My question is, what does a mac classify in the 'Other' category, because that is taking up most of the space.

You obviously have downloaded a lot of things. Maybe zip files, Steam games are classified under other as well.

Look in your downloads folder, and you'll find your answer.

My downloads folder has 20 pictures and a minecraft 1.4 pre- release in it So idk what my problem is

@BlueToad, I run into this problem every now and again as well, but I have the 128 GB air, so I have a bit more wiggle room.

What I find takes up most of that "Other" space is things in my Downloads folder and in my Trash. For now, try clearing both of those out and you should free up a little space to get by, but you should definitely take the time to make sure that you've fully uninstalled Apps that you don't use and things like that. Sometimes there are residual files and folders left behind by those that take up space even though you're not using them/don't need them.

Ok, i really need help now. I have nothing in my downloads or trash, and this is what I got today, when I had 11GB this morning.

What is going on?!? My computer is incredibly laggy and I really need help!

You must have downloaded something, somewhere (iTunes, App Store, Steam) for it to increase to 505.6MBs of space.

Either you need to delete files you don't need, or you need to buy a new cable for your HHD.

We're not going to be able to help you with just a picture showing us how much space you have left on your disc. You need to do most of the work.
