M games have been putting bad influences in people's lives and it's not good. Inappropriate features are "infecting people", heck even children (NO). Children being influenced by M games is not right. Media is a major corrosion to the way people think, especially by inappropriate entertainment in any variation. Some good influence may come outta M games, but most, if not all of the influence is bad. Cuss words, inappropriate romance, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, etc. Are really destroying people. Instead of playing these M games often, go outside, read a book, or do anything that is not badly influential. M games can tear your life apart and are no good to play. I'm not demanding you guys and gals to stop playing these games (Though I really do recommend it), I'm just warning you about this bad stuff. Try to avoid it.
I play CoD and I don't feel like stabbing someone in the back.Heck,I have some small anger issues and I don't like going on a six-star GTA rampage. Some of these games even make me NOT want to kick someone's butt.Seriously, please don't bring this topic up again.

@Drobotic, I'm not saying that a game will make you do exactly what happens on that game. I'm saying it will influence you (I'm not referring directly to you, just anyone) to do similar things.
By my non-existent whiskers, you are uninformed. Saying this is like saying rated E- games are for children, when it is clearly stated they are for everyone. M games are no different, they are intended for a mature audience.

"M" rated games are for adults only (that's why the ratings are there in the first place). Of course, some parents don't care (and kids can sneak around to a friend's house), but that's not the fault of the game developer.
As long as you're mature enough to seperate fact from fiction, there's no reason you shouldn't be allowed to play them.
If you don't want to play them, fine (there are tons of great "E" & "T" rated games out there too), but there's nothing wrong with playing them if you're the appropriate age.

@brooks83, it's true that media is influencing people. I was influenced by educational tv shows when I was a young kid. I may have even got influence from games myself. It's not just M games, it's any game. I'm not saying to stop playing them. Just don't be obsessed in them and try to avoid any bad influences. Guard yourselves, guys and gals.

Influence, whatever. Also,if you think about it,all games have violence in some way.In Super Mario, you stomp on a Goomba's head and completely squish them.In Pong, you repeatedly hit a square with paddles, and that square has a family.People play Pong in real life,in the form of tennis.I wouldn't be surprised if this topic get's blocked.

Also, the events in games like CoD happen in real life sometimes, but that's just a game.A simulation of those events. No simulation(at least now)can come really close to being like real life.

It's hard to take you seriously when your violence-ladden icon is staring me right in the eyeball. Why did you choose that avatar if you were against violence. I sometimes play M games but am against violence as a form of entertainment, though I've never told someone else what to do, that's just plain ignorant.

Look man, I'm saying that people are that far influenced... Not violence, just other bad features. If you guys are guarding yourselves, that's good. I'm starting to see the posts, I'm feeling almost as if this topic was pointless.
with all respect to your beliefs, your saying a thing does not make it so. do you have proof the playing M-rated games can 'tear your life apart'? the rating system is there for a reason: to keep M-rated games out of the hands of children. parental awareness is the key to that one.
if you come up with legitimate statistics, please try again.
