No, but some people broke into my friends house and stole his Wii, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They also took his Xbox 360 and all the games for it. Sad

Dang, after reading the responses on this thread, ive come to the conclusion that the GBA SP is apparently the single most theivable item on Earth.

When I close my eyes, I see pixilated blood.

I used to have an old Mercury Grand Marquis with window motors that didn't work, so half the time at least one of the windows would be impossible for me to raise or lower fully... it was broken into a few times. i never kept anything important in it, though, because i knew it was a risk, so they never stole anything. the only thing that pissed me off was twice when it happened they left the glove box open, which in that model car has a light inside, so it ran down the battery and made the car kinda hard to start in the morning afterward :/
that car was a total POS, but damn did i love it

Couldnt you have taken the light bulb out so it wouldnt run down the battery when it was left open?

@Mully: Lol Thats what I was thinking Mully while I was reading all the posts than I got to yours and saw you posted the same thing I was thinking lol.

**Been
I spent my early childhood living in a decently sized duplex located in Cape Cod. One late winter's eve, I drove myself to the point of exhaustion to attempt the completion of the Spirit Temple, which took me an exceptionally long time to finally beat. After several hours, I began to grow drowsy, which was when a loud bang jolted me awake. I thought quickly, propping a chair against the door, and diving beneath the bed. I took shelter there until I began to hear the loud wail of police sirens. I warily ventured out of my room, adrenaline coursing through my veins. I furtively snuck into our living room, where my mother stood, looking shaken, in a nightgown, explaining to several officers what had transpired just minutes ago. Evidently, a young-looking male had broken into our home, and tried to steal our incredibly heavy analogue TV, but failed, dropping it on the floor, causing the crash I had heard. My mother then stormed out of her room, assuming it was me that had caused the noise, and yelled a series of expletives while walking down the hallway that led to the living room. This must have startled the intruder, because he fled the scene. We moved soon afterwards, but I continued to have nightmares for quite a few months. Overall, it was a pretty emotionally distressing experience.

UPDATE: It turns out I'm not the only one after all! Apparently, as it turns out, Several other residents who live in the neighbourhood have claimed to be robbed of their possesions as well.

@Mully: Funnily Enough, it's not entirely true, my ol' GBA SP is left out in the open on the nightstand in my bedroom, but the perpetrators never had a second thought of stealing it. =P

Last year while I was crashing at a friends, heard some crashing and a pan hit the floor. Since there was only 3 of us at the time living there, one of them out for afew days, i figured it was the other roommate who was a total freak about the dumbest things. Figured he was angry at something, so I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep. My room was right beside the kitchen, so I heard my door slam open and some dude standing there. I didn't have my glasses on at the time, but I stood up anyway as he said "GIVE ME YOUR LAPTOP".
Now this was a bad time for me, as I said, I was crashing at my buddies since I was looking for a job, and have no family in the area, so this laptop was my workshop, and was the single most important piece of getting back on my feet.
So I told him "What makes you think I'll give you my laptop?", so he held up a knife to me, at that point the adrenaline just kicked in and I told him "You better be ready to f*cking kill me, because otherwise you are not leaving with that laptop!". He startled abit then ran out of my room, through the kitchen, and back outside.
I saw my roommate on the floor in the kitchen, asked if he was ok, if the guy stole anything, and all he could say was "You're a f*cking idiot for picking a fight with a guy holding a knife", haha.
3 weeks later, I got hired as a goldfarmer in WoW, which I do from my laptop, hurrah!

Very old story. I'm older than most here. ... When I was in college I had an expensive, really good multi-component stereo system that I'd bought with money I worked very hard to earn as a busboy. Anyway, one day while I was working my parents' house got robbed. The crooks had the you-know-whats to back their car into our garage, close the door behind them and load up. They must have got to my room last and got spooked, because when my mother came home my stereo system was out of its stand and neatly stacked on my bed, with the cords wrapped around everything. I never felt the same about my house, and my mother still insists that those jerks must have done something to our dog, who was just a bit different after that incident. To this day I willingly pay whatever is necessary to alarm my house.

My other robbery story was having my original GameBoy stolen out of my pocket on the New York subway.

probably not good advice

but i suggest you guys take pictures of anything of value to you so that you have proof to claim it back or have it replaced not sure how exactly insurance for whatever would work in this if your in area thats prone to be having thiefs.

for example
-each individual game
-each individual movies
-tv
-each consoles and portables

  • each piece of equipment even though they only work as one ex: computer set
    controllers

well i think youll get the idea

when i was a freshman in art school my dorm room was broken in during spring break. i had nothing there, at the time, for anything worthwhile to be stolen. the door was busted, but i didn't own that.

years later i brought a music keyboard & drum machine for a project to the workplace i used to work at. that was broken into and they stole them. and since that workplace was lame, they didn't have any insurance to cover it.

Once at the old apartment that I lived in (the one in colton that went to hell with gangs)
My mom ordered some pizza and pasta from Pizza Hut, The pizza man was just about to get to the door when all of a sudden some kid (probably 10-years-old) walked up to the pizza man and said "Give Me the damn pizza", He then kicked the pizza man down and ran away with the pizza and the pasta.

Needless to say, My mom was pissed, Because We were all hungry.

Someone stole my archery gear from my garage last year. Hadn't used it in ages and got more for it from insurance than I'd paid orginally, so effectively I made a great sale of some unused gear.

I had my house broken into when I was 18. They took a leather jacket and some cassette tapes. Not much really. Karma won in the end, because I eventually found out who took the stuff and also discovered that he lost a leg in a freak train accident.

Yay karma: she is such a cruel mistress.
