I obviously have no opinion of games I've not played as I've not played a game released this year, but I am rooting for Expedition 33 for the devs shouting out cool JRPGs and being another game like Baldur's Gate 3 embarrassing Final Fantasy XVI for being scared of being turn based.

My thoughts exactly. The only problem with the game (okay I actually also have a problem with the CRT aspect ratio, but that's pretty minor) is that it isn't finished yet, and when it is inevitably finished, it'll probably be my favorite game of all time. It's possible that Toby Fox and his team drops the ball on future chapters but I highly doubt that. Overall, I just really love this game.

Currently Playing: Deltarune (Weird Route)

My Nintendo: Owlex

My GOTY is definitely going to either Expedition 33 or Digimon Story Time Stranger, those games were an amazing experience and Expedition 33 felt like a generational game.
I haven't gotten around to playing Dragon Quest 1&2 HD yet but sadly I don't think they'll be mentioned much or nominated, except for RPG of the year maybe.

Same with Metroid Prime 4 but only because it's releasing so late and game awards usually start early to mid december and it releases on the 5th. Though I could see it winning player's choice if Expedition doesn't yoink every award out there.

My game of the year, today, is Silksong. I love everything about it, and think that it’s just about perfect in execution. Very difficult, but it forces you to become a better player. Getting 100% truly felt like an accomplishment.
Hades 2 and DK are both incredible games, but I don’t have them quite as high in my book.
I would choose Cyberpunk over everything else, but it’s only new to me - I absolutely love the game.
Metroid Prime 4 does have a chance at becoming my game of the year after seeing the hands on and trailers…we’ll see in a few weeks.
