Topic: Games Library Omissions

Hi there,

I'm new to this website and instantly fell in love with it.
One of the many reasons I love this website so much is because I can rate the games I've played and it keeps a handy library of them for me to keep track of on my profile page. However, so far I've come across one game that I can't seem to find on this website and thus can't include in my library: Mega Man ZX Advent for DS.

I would therefore like to make this Topic on the forum where people can post the games that aren't featured on the website yet in the hopes they will be included at a later date.

I thought you were able to submit new games to the list.

Edit: yep the option is still there, you should use that.

I got Megaman ZX Advent a few months ago, it' s really underrated. I think that Bionicle Heroes (DS) version is missing too, however, maybe it's because they just want to include reviewed games and they didn't review that one.

@Meowpheel Can you please explain how to do that because I can't find such an option anywhere.

Whenever I try and add missing games to the NintendoLife game database, it never seems to work. After I've filled out the form and added it, I get the success message; "Thanks. Your game has been submitted for approval and automatically added to your games list." But neither of those things happen.

In any case, the games I've tried to add are:

GB: Yoshi's Cookie, Killer Instinct
NES: Lemmings
SNES: Sensible Soccer, Micro Machines, NBA Live 95, Super Scope 6, Super Soccer, Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose!
N64: NBA Jam 2000, Worms Armageddon, Micro Machines V3
GBA: Tales of Phantasia, Bomberman Tournament

And Mega Man ZX Advent hasn't been added to the games library yet either. This system doesn't seem to be working. Is there any way of contacting a moderator about this?

Yeah the contact form is the way to do it, us moderators don't really control the site to that extent. We just... Moderate the forums.

Having the same problems trying to get games added. I've been trying to get Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD added for ages. So it's the contact form we need to use? I'll do that.

Honestly, it seems like everyone's just ignoring the game library feature, users and staff alike. I see very few people using it to the same extent than I do and the staff doesn't seem to pay much attention to it.

@Bolt_Strike: For what it's worth, I use the game library feature a lot. It's not perfect, but it should give the average guest or user a pretty accurate look at the games I own on my Nintendo systems. My problem isn't so much adding games, it's more that I wish there was a way to edit/update some of the game entries here.

...But I thought there was a way to submit new database requests besides using the contact form? I know I've done it before....Hmm.

We know, that's not the problem. The problem is that the games we end up submitting never end up getting added, I submitted entries for Colosseum and XD months ago and they're still not showing up. It seems the site admins aren't really paying attention to user submissions and never end up following through on the suggestions, hence why link3710 and Meowpheel suggested using the contact form. It's basically to get the admin's attention and say "Hey, why the heck aren't you doing anything about this?". I mean really, it kind of defeats the purpose of even having a user submission form if you're not going to follow through on user suggestions.

I HAVE had stuff added, though to be fair it did take a while for it to show up.

Also, I took a look at @Haywired's list and most of those still haven't been added. That was three months ago. I don't remember when exactly I submitted Colosseum and XD, but I'm pretty sure it's been longer than that (like, 5 at least). It's not reasonable to expect them to be up right this second, but several months is a pretty ridiculous wait.

Oh yeah, I sent them a message and they said they'd get on to it, but after a few weeks I messaged them again (not just to pester them... I'd thought of some other games to add to the list) and they said it was in hand, but that was a few weeks ago and they still haven't been added. I suppose it's not that important, but I really like the games list/user score feature, so hopefully they get approved at some point.

Just submitted Spyro: A Hero's Tail for Gamecube, still awaiting submission.

Mods, maybe this thread should be stickied? There always seems to be more games to add.
