I just saw the current advert for the DSi (the one where the two people take a photo and write 'coffee?' on it, you might have seen it if you live in the UK), and when it shows the DSi Menu (the long row of application icons) there's one with the Facebook logo on it. I know that the DSi Camera app itself has a Facebook button in it, but I was unaware of an individual app - I couldn't find one in the Shop, at any rate. I don't use Facebook myself, but just wondered if I'm missing something or if Ninty's let something slip.
What advert is that? .... I'll watch for it. Now I'm curious. I recently joined Facebook simply because I wanted to see how the upload feature worked with the DSi photos. It would be interesting to see what else we can do with it.

maybe its more like a mistake from one of the artists, i mean, its not like they just take a video of a dsi in a blank background and leave it unedited. they could have been told to add some focus on the facebook element and figured it would use its own icon in the menu. Also, theyre not lying about your dsi being able to upload photos to facebook...
it would be nice to have a more complex facebook app, its not like im much into that sort of thing, though.
Seems like a possible slip that Nintendo should and probably will rectify at a later date. Personally I don't care much for Facebook "apps" as it's best to just go online with PC when you have the chance. iphone version is fairly barebones and the XBLA one seems clunky at best even with the constant updates. So I can't say this is something I'm too keen on if true. It would likely be free though so what the heck?

Page 2 "Sharing experiences is one of the key features of the DSi and our Facebook application is designed with this in mind. It allows users to get the most out of the fun image manipulation tools on the DSi camera, and post their photographic creations straight to their Facebook profile.
Page 10 "For the DSi campaign, three adverts will air, each focusing on different online features: the new Facebook appication"
IF this is true, picture you take will go straight to your profile image sets. Anything else is beyond me but at least we know there's going to be an ad for it to explain it.
This could also just mean they are talking about the Facebook feature in the photo section, but I doubt it since there is a piece elsewhere in the promo mag that tells you about that.
Would it be nice if they had the chat feature available, but I don't know how well the DSi wold handle multiple chats at once.
Also whether or not these features will his NA, since NoA is mentally retaaaded.
ALSO, I'm sure whatever it does if it's real will still pale in comparison to say the Facebook app for the Ipod Touch/IPhone.
Actually, NoA has redeemd itself a bit as of late but I won't get into that.
To me, this is as good as confirmed. As for a text chat feature, it's quite likely. But as I said, I got a hunch they're working on some sort of voice communication application. That would also explain why they rejected Nnooo's DSiWare idea.

Nnooo stated they can't use a voice chat "outside" of a video game because then Nintendo would have to file to the FCC to have them consider the DSi a communications device. Why Nintendo wouldn't do that is beyond me. Maybe the fee to process is massive? Maybe there's strict rules for devices like that? I dunno.
